Black Bird: Here’s When the Crime Drama is Releasing on Apple TV+

After the intriguing The Essex Serpent starring Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes, Apple TV+ is all set to release a new crime drama. Titled Black Bird, the show is based on a real-life incident and promises to keep you hooked. BB is developed by Dennis Lehane, and the story is taken from James Keene’s autobiographical novel called ‘n With The Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption’.

Michaël R. Roskam has directed the first three episodes. Dennis Lehane, James Keene, Taron Egerton, Kary Antholis, Michaël R. Roskam, Richard Plepler, Bradley Thomas, Dan Friedkin, Ryan Friedkin, Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert as the executive producers of the show.

The star cast includes Taron Egerton as James Keene, Ray Liotta as Big Jim Keene, Greg Kinnear as Brian Miller, Sepideh Moafi as Janice, and Paul Walter Hauser as Larry Hall.

Black Bird Synopsis/Plot

Apple TV+ describes the show as follows – As Jimmy Keene begins a 10-year prison sentence, he gets an incredible offer: If he can elicit a confession from suspected killer Larry Hall, Jimmy will be freed. Completing this mission becomes the challenge of a lifetime.

Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum-security facility. James is given two options — enter a maximum-security facility where the ruthless convicts are kept and become friends with suspected serial killer Larry Hall.

The other choice is to stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no parole. Keene understands that the only way to escape is to obtain a confession and learn the whereabouts of the bodies of several young girls. But is the alleged murderer being honest? Or is it just another fabrication from a liar in the making?

Black Bird Release Date, Number of Episodes and Trailer

The first two episodes of the show will release on July 8. There is a total of 6 episodes in the psychological thriller. A new episode will drop every Friday on Apple TV+.
