MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 17 is titled ‘Tarts Anon Pressure Test’. Judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, and Jock Zonfrillo invite Chef Gareth Whitton to set the Pressure Test for the cooks today. Tommy, Daniel, Christina and Matt are in the pressure test challenge. In the challenge, the contestants have to cook Gareth’s Smoked Pecan and Butterscotch tart.
The contestants are smitten and worried as they see Gareth’s delicious and intricate-looking tart. They get to taste the dish before they start cooking it. The cooks get two hours and fifty minutes to cook the start following the recipe provided.

Tommy, Christina, Matt and Daniel are worried about cooking the tart in MasterChef Australia Season 14 Episode 17. However, they all want to give their best as no one wants to leave the cooking competition. Daniel and Matt decide to focus on the recipe and have a fun cook throughout.
Tommy and Christina have an anxious cook as they are worried about not catching up with the time or committing a mistake while cooking. Tommy pushes himself and does his best till the end. Sadly, Christina falls behind in keeping her tart inside the over. She’s the last one to keep it in the oven. Christina was aware that she was lagging during the cook and got emotional. But the MasterChef contestant didn’t give up at all.

The judges taste the smoked pecan and butterscotch tart prepared by all the four contestants. Andy, Melissa, Jock and Gareth are impressed with Daniel and Matt’s tarts. Tommy’s tart had minor flaws, whereas Christina failed to add the punch of flavour to her dish. Hence, she gets eliminated from the show.

Chef Gareth Whitton’s tart looked truly mouth-watering and difficult to make. Kudos to the contestants for attempting to make one in the MasterChef kitchen for the pressure test. The episode should be titled ‘Pressure Tarts’. It’s good to see Daniel and Matt pushing themselves and serving the dish almost perfectly. Tommy is quite talented, and I hope he learns to trust himself more. Tommy’s confidence is his strength, along with his amazing cooking skills. It’s sad to see Christina getting eliminated. I hope her journey after the show is more thriving.
