Manifest Season 4 Part 2: Characters Who Died, Ending Explained and Unanswered Questions

On June 2, Netflix dropped Manifest Season 4 Part 2. The final season of the supernatural thriller was awaited for a long time. The series stars Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, JR Ramirez, Parveen Kaur, and Matt Long. The final season had 10 episodes, and the mystery about Flight 828 deepened. But in the end, there’s a happy ending for many characters. However, some never make it to the end.

Whoever is a fan of the Manifest series knows that the makers don’t shy away from killing any major character. In season 3, Ben Stone’s wife, Grace Stone’s death (played by Athena Karkanis), shook everyone. When they made Angelina the crazy, murderous villain, the show took an unexpected turn.

If that wasn’t enough, they killed Zeke, Michaela’s husband, in the last episode of Manifest Season 4 Part 1. Zeke sacrificed his life to save Cal’s life. But the death saga continues until the end. The new season witnessed several major deaths and survivors and a twist we didn’t see coming.

Some Major Characters Who Died in Manifest Season 4 Part 2

Captain Bill Daly and Fiona

In one of the previous seasons, Bill forcefully takes Fiona on a flight and does the same thing he did with Flight 828. Till now, we were told that the flight was shot down, and the duo entered divine consciousness. In the final season, both Bill and Fiona return, but not in a normal state. They hardly talk or help with anything. When Angelina finds out they’re alive, she kills both of them. She believes they will be the hurdle in the mission God shouldered on her.

Cal Stone

The older Cal sacrifices his life by using the Omega sapphire powers to save the world. There’s another flash of blue light, similar to what we saw in season 1. Suddenly, Cal disappears, and Flight 828 appears. All the alive passengers get into the flight. Amuta, the co-pilot, flies the plane. But that’s not the end of the tragedy.

Deaths of several Flight 828 Passengers

When the flight is mid-air, some passengers’ skin burns into ashes. It is indicated that they’re judged for their actions and stripped of their right to live again. The passengers who turn into ashes are Randall Barr, Autumn Cox, Paul Santino and Angelina Meyer. Yes, you read it right.

Angelina, who would never stop shouting about how she was the chosen one, wasn’t really the one. She had to pay the price for all the sins she committed. But 3 other passengers were also turning into ash but got saved.

Passengers Who Almost Died in Manifest Finale

Adrian, who misguided people with his philosophies and manipulated Angelina and others like her, was almost burned to ash. However, Eagon, sitting next to him, requests the divine consciousness not to kill Adrian. Eagon says that Adrian has also been good and pleads that he gets killed instead.

Manifest Season 4 Part 2 3

The divine consciousness listens to Eagon and doesn’t kill Adrian. However, Eagon’s body starts turning into ashes. That’s when Adrian says Eagon offered their own life to save him. That’s a selfless act. Adrian’s request is also granted, and Eagon isn’t killed.

Dr Saanvi Bahl, who has been working continuously to find out what happened to Flight 828, helped the passengers whenever she could and saved multiple lives as a doctor also started turning into ash. Ben Stone is shocked to see her dying. Saanvi tells him she deserves it as she also took a life (The Major). But Ben reminds her that she also saved people and helped everyone who came to her for aid. The divine consciousness doesn’t kill her.

Manifest Ending Explained (in Short)

A dark figure appears on the plane when some people turn into ash. Ben and Michaela start yelling at the mysterious figure. They ask what it wants, why it chose them, and whatever they’ve done isn’t enough? They scream and walk towards the figure, asking it to stop and go away. The black figure disappears.

The plane lands at the JFK International Airport in New York. However, the year is 2013, the same day when the plane disappeared. The passengers are reunited with their families. Yet, 828ers remember everything that happened when the plane went missing. Some of the good passengers killed in the previous season are also back. However, those who died on the flight and Bill and Fiona are truly dead. There’s a concern about the 11 missing (dead) passengers.

Now the big question is – Is Cal really dead? For some inexplicable reason, Cal is back to being a kid again. He doesn’t remember anything like the other passengers. Ben is happy as Cal will now enjoy his childhood like a normal kid.

Manifest Final Season Questions We Need Answers to

Even though the Manifest series has a happy ending, there are a lot of questions we need an answer to.

  • What really happened to the plane?
  • Why was Divine Consciousness used only in conversations and never explained through scenes?
  • Where did the plane go for 5 years, and how did they land in 2018?
  • Why was Angelina made the villain if she also met fate like others? She was a useless villain
  • How did Cal become older in season 3?
  • What really happened to Bill and Fiona, and how did they return? Why were bad things happening because of Bill?
  • Why was Cal the central character of everything? Why were his Callings so different compared to others?
  • If the plane didn’t crash, what was the tailfin doing in the sea, in Cuba?
  • Zeke wasn’t on the plane and yet got the Callings. What was the reason for showing another character with similar powers?
  • It’s good to see passengers back in 2013. But what about their families in 2024? It’s not a happy ending for them.
Manifest Season 4 Part 2 6
  • Why were these particular people chosen? What was the Divine Consciousness expecting with all the Callings and tragedy?

Will we ever get precise answers to these questions? Maybe, the makers kept so many loose ends either for a spin-off or just for fans to come up with their own theories.
