Mafia Mamma Trailer Breakdown
The trailer starts off with a telephone call from Monica Bellucci’s character, Bianca as she informs Kristin (Toni Collette) about her grandfather’s death. However, she has no clue about her grandfather and what he even does. She tells her friend Jenny about the call and how they are asking her to come to Italy for his funeral and to settle his remaining affairs.

While Kristen is hesitant to pack her bags and go to a new country when she is presumably going through a rough patch in her marriage. She tells Jenny that maybe she should work on her marriage, while she advises her otherwise. Rightly so, she finds her husband cheating on her with another woman. That’s when she decides to go to Italy instead and get a break from her life.
As soon as she lands in Italy she gets escorted to the funeral where the clueless Kristen gets to know about her grandfather and his business when some bikers shoot at his casket and people close their doors and windows when they pass by. Soon she gets to know that his father has named her the new head of the family aka the new mafia don.

She is guided by the Firm’s trusted consigliere, played by Monica Belluci, who tells her that the family needs someone who is level-headed, unassuming and empathetic. Meanwhile, we see the visuals of Kristen getting stuck in dangerous situations, as her family is in the middle of a war with another mafia family – the Romanos. They have to get rid of the Romanos before they kill all of Kristen’s family.
In simple terms, it’s just like The Godfather, as Bianca explains but unfortunately Kristen hasn’t seen it. She still tries to play the part that’s expected of her but the people she has to lead don’t approve of her when she looks like a librarian, instead of an intimidating mafia boss. With help from Bianca, she slowly transforms into the charismatic don but isn’t without some hiccups like falling in love with your enemy or having a gelato date with the one that wants to kill you.
In this action-packed film with a dash of dark humour, Kristen will learn how to own up to her life and lead the newfound family, who will kill anyone at her command. It will be a roller coaster ride with some laughs and danger at every interval.
