The episode kicks off with Jae-ho heading to Seok Jiwon’s room to deliver a blanket, only to find the door locked. Unbeknownst to him, Yun Jiwon is inside, pressing her foot against the door to keep it closed while holding up a passed-out Seok Jiwon. Once Jae-ho leaves, assuming the room is empty, Yun Jiwon sneaks out quietly after settling Seok Jiwon on the floor.

The next morning, Seok Jiwon joins everyone at the breakfast table and casually asks if someone was in his room the night before. Yun Jiwon, overhearing from the kitchen, becomes visibly irritated. She joins them at the table and fires back that she’d have no reason to enter his room, sparking another round of their signature bickering. At school, Yun Jiwon questions Su-a about whether people can forget things they’ve done impulsively. Su-a muses that every action has a deeper meaning and teases Yun Jiwon about who she’s referring to, but before she can press further, a transfer student diverts their conversation.

Elsewhere, Haesu and Yumi’s feud drags on with no resolution in sight. Meanwhile, Yun Jiwon finds herself unable to meet Seok Jiwon’s gaze, while he, seemingly clueless, continues to act as if nothing happened. Mun-su gets caught in the crossfire of their arguments, suggesting that if they find a lilac flower with five petals, love might be in the air to break the tension. Naturally, neither takes the suggestion seriously, and their bickering resumes. That night, however, both Seok Jiwon and Yun Jiwon are haunted by memories of their past, leaving them quietly regretful.

The next day, a staff member heading to Seoul for training requests Yun Jiwon’s help. At the same time, Ji-hye stops by Seok Jiwon’s office and catches him staring out the window at Yun Jiwon on the track field. This moment takes her back to their school days, where Seok Jiwon often admired Yun Jiwon from afar. Ji-hye attempts to address their past feelings, suggesting they move on and return to being friends. Meanwhile, Haesu falls sick and is rushed to Hong’s office. That night, we see Hong being too caring towards Haesu creating a doubt about their student-teacher relationship.

The camera cuts to Kyung-hoon lounging at home, sipping whisky, hinting at suspicious behavior. Ji-hye, who was originally supposed to travel with Yun Jiwon, seizes the opportunity to hitch a ride with Seok Jiwon, who is heading to Seoul for his mother’s birthday.

When Seok Jiwon spots Yun Jiwon and Mun-su waiting at the bus stop, he stops to pick them up. Seeing Ji-hye in the car, Yun Jiwon feels a pang of betrayal, knowing Ji-hye had lied about her travel plans. Ji-hye feels equally awkward, realizing her deception has been exposed. During the car ride, Seok Jiwon notices Yun Jiwon isn’t feeling well and immediately adjusts the air conditioning, a small but telling gesture that Ji-hye doesn’t miss. Hurt by his obvious care for Yun Jiwon, she remains quiet. After dropping them off at the training center, Seok Jiwon assures Yun Jiwon he’ll call her later that night.

Seok Jiwon heads to his family home for his mother’s birthday, only to learn from Gyeong-tae that Jae-ho had come to apologize. This revelation shocks him, as his father had been pressuring him all week to demand an apology from Jae-ho. Unwilling to comply, Seok Jiwon had instead apologized to Jae-ho himself. Touched by this gesture, Jae-ho decided to make amends with Gyeong-tae, surprising everyone. After spending time with his family, Seok Jiwon calls Yun Jiwon to arrange her ride home.

Later, the group stops at a restaurant for dinner. When Yun Jiwon steps away to the restroom and Mun-su takes a call outside, Ji-hye seizes her chance to meddle. She switches off Yun Jiwon’s phone and pockets it, cutting off her connection to Seok Jiwon. Feeling conflicted, Ji-hye walks off into the night, grappling with her actions. Meanwhile, Yun Jiwon and Mun-su finish dinner and leave, only for Yun Jiwon to realize her phone is missing. Returning to the restaurant, she searches for it in vain.

Seok Jiwon, unaware of Ji-hye’s interference, begins to recall a painful memory—endless calls to Yun Jiwon that went unanswered years ago. Hurt by the resurfacing memory, he assumes Yun Jiwon is ignoring him again. On the other hand, Yun Jiwon and Mun-su stop at a roadside stall, reminiscing about their shared hospital days. During their conversation, Mun-su shocks Yun Jiwon by confessing his feelings for her. Aware that her heart still belongs to Seok Jiwon, he assures her he’s willing to wait, giving her time to sort out her emotions.

Yun Jiwon takes the bus home, lost in thought, while Seok Jiwon drives back, equally consumed by memories. Instead of going home, Yun Jiwon heads to the school track and begins running laps, trying to clear her mind. Knowing her habits well, Seok Jiwon finds her there. They finally confront each other, with Yun Jiwon demanding to know why he returned after 18 years, only to want to date her now. Seok Jiwon pauses before delivering a sharp response: he wants to “mercilessly dump” her, still believing she’s the cold-hearted one who caused their heartbreak. However, the tension between them shifts when Seok Jiwon spots a lilac flower falling into his palm.
