Boss Love Of Kill Episode 8

First of all, let’s start with something that we haven’t been able to discuss because of the spoiler warning. It was awful of the show to tease the boss’s death in such a gruesome and effective manner and then reveal him to be alive the next episode. Not only is that horrible writing, but also completely braindead. Had the boss died there, the show would at least have some consequences, something that it hasn’t had since it began.

He is not even a particularly important character to the story that just had to be kept alive in this manner. There were a thousand better ways to handle this situation, especially since pretending he was dead anyway wasn’t necessary. The show could have done without that red herring. If the situation had ended there, this act would have been okay after a while. However, that wasn’t to be. Not only did the show attempt the same thing in the latest episode, but it also did it even worse than the first time. If you didn’t think something that bad was even possible, you’re in for a surprise.

Song car Love Of Kill Episode 8

When the show wasn’t making its sins worse, it showcased the mastermind behind everything going on with Ryang-ha and Chateau currently. We don’t know much about them, but we did learn more about the henchmen they sent to take care of Chateau and Song. The show introduced too many new characters at once, and as a direct result, none of them stood out from each other. The villain from the previous episode was intriguing enough, but now he’s just a gear in a huge cog with no respite or character development on his horizon.

Love Of Kill Episode 8 also featured more of the same flashbacks that we get weekly about Chateau and Song’s past, and it is getting old quickly. There is a limit to how many times one can watch the same accident, and the extra scenes they added here didn’t tell us anything that we didn’t already know. We know that they’re both known each other for far longer than the show has shown, and while that part of this show isn’t uninteresting, here’s hoping it gets to the point soon.

Chateau wins her first fight in this episode, finally proving she isn’t as useless as Jim, the mouthless boy. This was an off-putting episode by many metrics, but the worse of them all might just be the show’s faux attempts to portray stakes and danger while everyone and their mothers know that nobody is going to die here. This is supposed to be for an older audience. Do the showrunners think adults can’t take death? Shonen anime like Demon Slayer are braver than Seinen anime in this case.

Verdict

Love Of Kill Episode 8 was just as much a useless waste of time as the show’s previous outing. It feels like the show has already driven off a cliff, and all we can do is stand and watch as it meets its inevitable doom.
