Even though we’re pacing along with a new phase of modernity, our love for old-touch romantic comedies has stayed put. Love Again starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in the lead is once again gifting us a share load of nostalgia with a similar taste of the warm feeling.
The trailer for the movie was released earlier on the Sony Pictures official YouTube channel, promising us all that love is but a single text away. Written for the screen and directed by Jim Strouse, the film brings together Rob Burns (Heughan) and Mira Ray (Chopra) as the red thread of fate pulls their destinies closer. Having been dumped recently, Rob’s faith in love has started to waver, whereas Mira is still grieving for the loss of her fiancé.
She starts sending out a couple of text messages to her fiancé’s old contact number, all of which get redirected to the journalist’s official phone. While Rob is bummed out by the recent turn of events in his relationship, the confessional and personal nature of these texts reawakens his spirits. He’s further helped out by none other than the singing sensation herself, Celine Dion, as he’s assigned to author her profile. Eventually, the singer puts herself out there too and helps him put two and two together and move forward to make their little meet-cute possible.
This will not only be Dion’s first cinematic performance, but to make things even more interesting, the trailer also shows us a glimpse of Mira’s passing date night with Nick Jonas, the actor’s real-life partner, who’ll be featured as a special cameo in the film. Several news songs from Dion will also make their way into the movie and turn the whole thing into a heartwarming affair for audiences who are suckers for this category of films. In the end, if you believe in love with all your heart, it’ll find its way back to you.
Various channels of Sony Pictures have put out several editions of the trailer, each presenting a different POV. If one of them majorly focusses on Rob’s perspective, then the other takes us through Mira’s narrative. Yet, the one common factor holding them all together is Dion’s stirring musical foundation.
