Los Angeles Moksi Remix MV Teaser: Red Velvet’s Seulgi Fascinates in Futuristic Animated Outfit

Under the SM Entertainment label, Red Velvet’s Seulgi recently released the Los Angeles Moksi Remix MV teaser and it looks fantastic. This is a song from her new mini-album titled 28 Reasons / Los Angeles Remixes. She had recently come out with a mini-album of the same name, however this time, we’ll be getting remixes of those songs. The teaser for the music video is out now and it shows Seulgi in a new world, walking through some interesting landscapes.

The teaser mentioned in the title is from the newly releasing music video for Los Angeles Moksi Remix, which will be a new single in her catalogue. We can see the artist making her way through a futuristic city. The first shot shows her standing in front of a sunset-kissed skyline, looking out at the view in determination. We then see the protagonist wearing a full-face-covered ski mask on their face, later on, sitting in the backseat of a car, looking at the rear-view mirror.

This is the part where it gets interesting. Till now, it looked like the background was done with live-action CGI and VFX but the latter part of the video makes it perfectly clear that there are some serious animated vibes in the video. Additionally, when we see the protagonist walk through the city, there are bikes floating through the city and the way they are walking is indicative of an animated or a gaming project.

However, that is not all. The protagonist walks past this big billboard of a woman floating in the sky, before cutting to a close up of her and another shot lit in red with an artist dancing in the foreground. The city is supposed to emulate elements of Los Angeles and it does so in its representation of classic American architecture seen in various neighbourhoods around town.

The music is filled with fast-paced beats and some interesting synthesiser action while also including some autotune in the song. Additionally, there are drops in the music that don’t seem out of place and the voice modulation change in the song tracks perfectly well with the artist’s vocals.

The best part is that the music emulates the tones of the video and truly give the whole futuristic feel that the video is supposed to represent. It is incredibly well-edited till now. This teaser is mainly focused on a single aspect of the song, possibly close to the chorus in order to give listeners a complete idea of what the song will sound like when remixed. A teaser of this kind will also give fans reassurance that the song will not be ruined.

This single is part of a new initiative by SM Entertainment’s SM EDM Label called iScreaM where popular songs are released as remixes created by popular DJs and music producers. This will be one of the many projects releasing in the past couple of years including but not limited to NCT U’s Make a Wish (Birthday Song) Wuki Remix, Taeyon’s INVU Zhu Remix and aespa’s Girls BRLLNT Remix. The music videos are all shot in animation and don’t generally feature the artists, just their likenesses.

Seulgi is part of the K-pop band Red Velvet and also has her own sub-unit within the group, shared with fellow member Irene. Members of the band include Joy, Wendy, Yeri, Seulgi and Irene. They debuted in 2014 with the single Happiness and have since been making music consistently. For the band member Seulgi, 28 Reasons was the first mini-album. Song titles from the album include the titular track 28 Reasons, Dead Man Runnin’, Bad Boy, Sad Girl, Anywhere But Home, Los Angeles and Crown.
