Meanwhile, Young-hwan rushes to Young-hun’s place to find Jung-ho unconscious on the floor and is left sobbing, wracked with guilt. However, he does eventually wake up, leaving Young-hwan thankful.

Gye-hoon, at the same time, goes to the hospital to learn that Da-hyun will be ok – she will need surgery, but it’s not going to be life-threatening. Bok-hee apologises to Gye-hoon and thanks him for being there, although he is sad for not being there for her quicker.

As the family wait on her to wake up, things move on in Jihwa-dong. Young-hun does not confess to the murder 18 years ago, Won-tak apologises to Eui-chan and takes the first step towards rebuilding their relationship, and Gye-hoon finally confesses to his mother that his father is no more. And finally, Gye-hoon and Da-hyun realise that they cannot feel each other anymore – the link that connected them has been severed.

When Da-hyun finally comes home, she and her mother realise that staying alive and healthy are the most important things in life – nothing else matters. However, the bickering still does not end. Anyway, her relationship with Gye-hoon still remains unfulfilled – inside the restaurant, Da-hyun sits at the counter and reminisces about her time with Gye-hoon.

As she lives her life with Gye-hoon’s memories, the sadness of not being with him hangs heavy. On the day, however, taking shelter from the rain, Gye-hoon comes to meet her and take her home. She asks him how he could just disappear for a month like this and why he is here now, and Gye-hoon tells her that he cannot live without her.

Gye-hoon asks to get back together with Da-hyun and she asks him to win her over if he can. He gets right to it and kisses her in the rain. Meanwhile, Chun-ok goes to meet her son, or Bok-hee’s ex, and asks him to be good to his current wife and not treat her like Bok-hee. Chun-ok seems remorseful for failing to warn Bok-hee, and the relationship between the two is the highlight of this episode!

Da-hyun and Gye-hoon’s relationship takes off as well, but without the link, he has a hard time understanding his girlfriend’s feelings, so in a way, they finally start to know each other for real.

Meanwhile, Min-jo and Won-tak, too, are in a happy relationship, and Jung-ho goes to meet Young-hun in prison to figure out what he did with Gye-young. He doesn’t have any luck at first, and after visiting him for days on end, Young-hun finally tells him to never come back. However, Jung-ho promises to come back every day to find Gye-young because it is all his fault.

Not able to take his friend’s guilt surrounding the whole situation and unable to handle the kindness that is being bestowed upon him, Young-hun finally tells Jung-ho where to find what he is looking for. Jung-ho immediately tells Gye-hoon what he learned, and they decide to go to look together at the former’s hometown.

It’s finally the day of the restaurant’s opening, and after much work and anxiety, it goes off without a hitch. The restaurant is a huge success, with people swarming in to try the delicious and aesthetic food! Gye-hoon, by his own admission, mentions that he is spending his time nowadays cooking, dating and trying to find Gye-young.

He is joined at the excavation by Jung-ho and Young-hwan, and Gye-hoon lets them know that he bought that land. Things go forward in their own stride until one day, the news comes in – they have found Gye-young as well as Cheol-ho’s remains. It’s a sad moment for everyone involved; even Young-hwan looks heartbroken. Gye-hoon breaks down sobbing, apologising for finding them late.

After performing their last rites, Gye-hoon and his mother have a heart-to-heart. Having found closure, she apologises for letting him grow up alone and promises to be there for him from now on. It’s a sweet moment, and Gye-hoon’s future feels hopeful. Back at Jihwa-dong, Da-hyun comforts her boyfriend, and just like that, things fall back into a rhythm.

Things look great for everyone around – Min-jo, Won-tak and Eui-chan find themselves as a small family, Gye-hoon’s restaurant does a great job, and he finally tells Da-hyun his feelings and Jung-ho and Bok-hee finally confess everything to the police.

Still From Link: Eat Love Kill Episode 16

What a great episode, guys. Emotional and wholesome, the Link: Eat Love Kill finale is filled with great moments that tie up all the loose ends and give us some amazingly hopeful situations that put a smile on our faces.

However, we don’t know why Young-hun wanted to murder people and if that’s something that he has done previously, which is my biggest gripe with the show. Although they thought to include finding the remains, they didn’t let us know whether this was Young-hun’s first rodeo or whether he was a serial killer.

Did he kill Eun-jung’s sister or what that Jin-geun? I think Young-hun’s storyline was not tapped into enough and felt a bit rushed towards the end. Actually, his introduction as the master manipulator seemed a bit confusing and weird, and the feeling stuck with me till the end because, honestly, his character just doesn’t make much of an impact in any way. Jin-geun was more menacing than him.

On the other hand, for lovers of romance, this one’s going to be a worthy watch because we got the happy endings that we have waited for. If you watched the show till the end for Gye-hoon and Da-hyun romance, then you’ve got what you were looking for. There are lots of flowers and rainbows and everything that we wanted from episode 1.

All in all, the finale was a sweet affair and a light, emotional watch. I didn’t care much about the mystery, but these characters are cute in every way possible!

  1. I watched this now in 2025, and I thought although it was a very good series, I felt very sad about the ending of Gye-hoon‘s sister. Those many moments where she could have been helped was really really sad to watch, but also showed a point how we are all stuck in our own stories at times. It was this that made it hard for me to see a super happy ending in the end. I kinda hoped that she would have managed to flee and come back many years later as well, that the murderer lied or something. but that scenario with the driver not helping really broke my heart. it was the second saddest thing I have seen or read so far.
everything else, specially the characters, this goes out to Mama and Grandma!, were really great to watch and I enjoyed the Show a lot.
