Light Shop Episode 6 Recap

The episode opens with the coroner and his assistant talking about why they traditionally wait 3 days before having a funeral as they store Ji-young’s body in the morgue. When then see Ji-young meeting and spending time with Hyun-min while simultaneously realising that she is not her normal self. She thinks back to the best times that she had spent with Hyun-min and tries to use her voice in the present. As she comes to terms with what is happening, she comes across Hyun-min and there’s clearly something wrong happening. It seems like she is trying to stitch him together before her 3 days are over or something.

Meanwhile, Detective Sung-sik seems to be on a journey of his own. Trying to come to terms with losing his unborn child, he seems to be going through his own tragedy which becomes clear when one of his eyes starts to melt a bit! Meanwhile, Hyun-ju and Hyun-min come across one another since they seem to be staying at the same apartment complex and he confusedly asks her when he moved in and then collapses on the floor. Hyun-ju’s confusion reaches new heights when Ji-young races to get to him and then asks Yoo-hee why they remember each other and Hyun-min can’t remember him even though they are in the same situation.

Hyun-ju is confused about this comment and asks her mother the meaning of it all. However, Yoo-hee isn’t able to answer her and instead asks her to get more lightbulbs for her, which she tearfully refuses to do, stating that she has been running into a lot of weird people lately. In the end, she storms off sobbing after breaking all the bulbs, leaving her mother frazzled and worried. Elsewhere, Kwon Young-ji tries to comfort Ji-young as she sobs in front of a comatose Hyun-min. As it turns out, she was the one keeping him alive for all this time.

Meanwhile, Sun-hae opens the mysterious door in her new home and stares at the flickering light, thinking back to the doctor’s words about how Hye-won’s selfless act helped her stay alive in the accident. As she breaks down, she finds comfort in apologising to Hye-won, who we see is clutching onto her sobbing partner warmly. Meanwhile, we see Sung-sik once more as he realises what had happened to him right as he tries to light a cigarette. He runs to the shop to meet Won-young, and tells him that he has figured out everything that was merely a feeling some time ago. Won-young takes his glasses off, exposing something shocking.
