Kpop Groups That Debuted in 2022: Le Sserafim, NewJeans, Younite and More

As the Kpop industry continues to flourish and steal our hearts no matter where we belong, new groups continue to make their way in 2022 to bring the spotlight on themselves each year. These young talents have worked hard through their teens to bring the best of entertainment to us all and spread their culture.

So as the juniors BTS, BLACKPINK, EXO, GOT7, MAMAMOO, and many other groups make their way to the stage, we are here to shine the light on the groups who have debuted this year.

As 2022 slowly ends, here are rookies who have debuted this year and begun their journey to become the brightest light!

Kpop Groups That Debuted in 2022

ATBO (At The Beginning of Originality)

This 7 members group debuted on July 27, 2022, through IST Entertainment’s survival competition The Origin – A, B, Or What?. With members, Oh Jun-seok, Ryu Jun-min, Bae Hyun-jun, Seok Rak-won, Jeong Seung-hwan, Kim Yeon-kyu and Won Bin, ATBO debuted with their extended play The Beginning: 開花.

This 9 members boy band debuted on May 24, 2022, through Keystone Entertainment and consisted of members DK, Louis, Donghyuk, Siwoo, Mikey, U, Youngbin, Sungjun, and Sodam. The group debuted with their extended play K2Y I: Confidence [Thumbs Up].

Classy

This 7 members girl group debuted on May 5, 2022, with their extended play Class Is Over. Consisting of members Won Ji-min, Kim Seon-you, Myung Hyung-seo, Hong Hye-ju, Kim Ri-won, Park Bo-eun and Yoon Chae-won, the group came together through MBC’s reality competition show My Teenage Girl.

CSR (Cheotsarang meaning First Love)

This 7 members girl group consists of only 17-year-old members Sua, Geumhee, Sihyeon, Seoyeon, Yuna, Duna and Yeham and debuted on July 27, 2022, as the first of its kind in the industry. The group has been formed and managed by A2Z Entertainment and debuted with their EP Sequence: 7272.

H1-Key

This four-member girl group debuted on January 5, 2022, with members Seoi, Riina, Sitala and Yel, however, Sitala later left the group and Hwiseo was introduced as the new member. Formed and managed by Grandline Group, HI-Key debuted with their single album Athletic Girl.

ILY: 1

This 6 members girl group debuted on April 4, 2022, with their single album Love in Bloom. Formed by FC ENM, ILY:1 consists of Hana, Ara, Rona, Ririka, Nayu and Elva.

Irris

Irris is a 4 members girl group consisting of I.L., Liv, Yunseul and Nina debuted on July 6, 2022, with their EP Wanna Know. Formed and managed by Justice Records and Mellow Entertainment, the group’s name is inspired by the goddess of the rainbow- Iris.

Kep1er

This 9 members girl group formed through the Mnet reality survival competition show Girls Planet 999 debuted on January 3, 2022. Consisting of members Kim Chae-hyun, Huening Bahiyyih, Choi Yu-jin, Kim Da-yeon, Seo Young-eun, Kang Ye-seo, Hikaru Ezaki, Mashiro Sakamoto, and Shen Xiaoting, Kep1er debuted with their EP First Impact.

Lapillus

Consisting of 6 members, this girl group debuted on June 20, 2022, with members Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun. Formed and managed by MLD Entertainment, they debuted with their digital single album Hit Ya!.

Le Sserafim

Consisting of 5 members, Le Sserafim debuted on May 2, 2022, with members  Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, Hong Eun-chae and Kim Ga-ram. However, Kim Ga-ram later left the group in July. Formed by Source Music and Hybe Corporation, the group debuted with their EP Fearless.

Mimiirose

Consisting of 5 members, this girl group debuted on September 16, 2022, with their single album Awesome. Formed by Yes Im Entertainment, the group consists of members Han Ye-won, Yoon Ji-a, Seo Yun-ju, Inn Hyo-ri and Choi Yeon-jae.

NewJeans

Consisting of 5 members, this girl group released their pre0debut single Attention and later debuted with their EP New Jeans on August 1, 2022. Formed by ADOR, a subsidiary of Hybe Corporation, NewJeans consists of members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.

NMIXX

This 7 members South Korean girl group consisting of members Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin debuted on February 22, 2022. Formed by SQU4D, a sub-label of JYP Entertainment, NMIXX debuted with the single, album Ad Mare.

TAN

This 7 members South Korean boy group formed through the MBC survival competition show Extreme Debut: Wild Idol debuted on March 10, 2022. Consisting of members Changsun, Taehoon, Jiseong, Sunghyuk, Jaejun, Hyunyeop, and Jooan, TAN debuted their EP 1TAN.

Tempest

Consisting of 7 members, this boy band consisting of members Hanbin, Hyeongseop, Hyuk, Eunchan, Lew, Hwarang, and Taerae debuted on March 2, 2022, with their EP It’s Me, It’s We. Tempest is under Yuehua Entertainment.

TNX (The New Six)

This 6 members boy band signed to Psy’s record label, P Nation debuted on May 17, 2022, with their EP Way Up. Consisting of members Kyungjun, Taehun, Hyunsoo, Junhyeok, Hwi, and Sungjun, TNX came together through the survival audition program Loud by P Nation.

Trendz

Making their debut on January 5, 2022, with their EP Blue Set Chapter 1. Tracks, Trendz is a 7 members group consists of members Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yechan. The group was formed by Interpark Music Plus.

Viviz

Former GFriend members  Eunha, SinB, and Umji debuted as the group Viviz on February 9, 2022, with their EP Beam of Prism. This 3 members group was formed by BPM Entertainment.

Younite

Making their debut on April 20, 2022, with their EP Youni-Birth, Younite is a 9 members boy band consisting of members Eunho, Steve, Hyunseung, Eunsang, Hyungseok, Woono, Dey, Kyungmun, and Sion. The group was formed by Brand New Music.
