Well, if you haven’t heard of or watched a single episode of India’s most popular talk show Koffee With Karan, you sure have been living under a rock. Hosted by director-producer Karan Johar, the show has been around since 2004 and, made a rather special place in everyone’s hearts, for both good and bad reasons, of course. The show also happens to be the second longest-running talk show after Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan on Indian Hindi-language television. However, looks like it is time to bid adieu to the talk-of-the-town show.
After six years of success, the show has finally come to an end. The sixth season of Koffee With Karan aired back in 2019 but, it wasn’t until recently that audiences got to know that it was the talk show’s final season. On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, Johar took over his Instagram to officially confirm that the show will not be getting renewed.
In his post, KJo wrote: “Hello, Koffee With Karan has been a part of my life and yours, for 6 seasons now. I’d like to think we made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Koffee With Karan will not be returning.” Since the announcement Twitter has been going crazy with hilarious memes about the show, some not caring at all and, some calling it an end of an era.
