The weeks-long school festival arc continues with Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 10. Let’s see where our favourite pseudo-couples end up in this review!

Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 10 Overview

Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 10 Title

Kaguya sama Love is War Season 3 or Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai Season 3 in original Japanese (stylized as Kaguya-sama Love is War Season 3 and Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai Season 3) is a romance, comedy, and psychological warfare (yes, really) anime based on the manga of the same name written by Aka Akasaka. Seasons 1 and 2 of the show aired in 2019 and 2020, respectively, and this series serves as a direct sequel to them.

The anime is developed by A-1 Pictures, who have been responsible for some of the most highly acclaimed shows in these times, including 86 and Erased, alongside both the previous seasons of Kaguya-sama. Shinichi Omata is directing this season, and he was also responsible for directing both the previous seasons of the show. This episode, with its tagline, is referred to as Kaguya Sama Love Is War Ultra Romantic Episode 10! Click here to read our review of the previous episode!

Kaguya-sama Love is War Season 3 Episode 10 Review- Insanity

Scream Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 10

No other anime has been more in tune with its strengths and qualities than this one. It knows what the people love it for and tries to deliver exactly that week in and week out. Every situation and arc is as Kaguya-sama as it can be, to the level that some might say borders on parody. There have been episodes better than this one in the show, some of them even this season, but no episode has ever been more “Kaguya-sama” than this one. Once it is all over and the series has been laid to rest, this is the episode you would point to anyone to introduce them to the phenomenon.

The first segment, based around classes 1-A and B’s festival event, is the most unhinged, insane, and over-the-top thing that has happened this season, which is counting the rap episode. Who comes up with such an idea? Who approves it to air in one of the most popular slice of life shows of all time? Whose bright idea was it to fill it to the brim with the most insidious and high-quality animation and sound this side of Demon Slayer? Why does it all still work like a charm?

Yuu Tsubame Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 10

The animation, in particular, is always a high point for the show, and this episode didn’t miss the mark in delivering the most high-paced, intricately and exquisitely detailed animation. This episode had everything, whether it be sudden and temporary explosions, detailed facial expressions, changing scenarios, or character portfolios. Since the first scenario was entirely based around sound, that had to be well-designed as well, and it was, but the showrunners slightly overestimated the effect such sounds have on an anime vs live action.

The next segment overturned one of this show’s most overused tropes on its head. If you were sick of the “Chika teaches the President” segments already, this was the part of the episode that you would most appreciate. Not only was it hilarious enough to make you keel up with laughter, but it also made sense in the continuity of these segments. Also, seeing Chika lose her damn mind over the President, who remains clueless over the machinations of her mind, is still yet to sour, let alone make you sick. It’s the repetition that’s the problem, not the overall sentiment.

Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai Ultra Romantic Episode 10 ended with a somewhat solemn note, seemingly concluding the Yuu-Tsubame portion of the festival as Day 1 came to an end. Of everything that has happened in the festival so far, this felt like the most spontaneous and out of the left field, but that could change as a resolution is overdue. This was a great episode of the show that brought along a lot of laughter and anticipation for the future.

Verdict

Kaguya Sama Love Is War Season 3 Episode 10 was a hilarious and fantastically weird episode that this show could only do and no one else in this entire world.
