Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 16 Ending Explained: The sixteenth episode of the anime series titled “Thunderblade” premiered on November 9, 2023. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (呪術廻戦 or Sorcery Fight) much-anticipated anime of this season, is finally out, and the fans cannot keep calm. Directed by Sunghoo Park, the show is animated under MAPPA Studio. With Sayaka Koiso and Tadashi Hiramatsu designing the characters, Yoshimasa Terui is the sole composer of the series. Tatsuya Kitani performed the opening theme, Where Our Blue Is (青のすみか), while Soushi Sakiyama performed the ending theme, Light (燈).
The anime is scheduled for two cours, the first five episodes will adapt the manga’s Hidden Inventory arc, and the eighteen other episodes will showcase the Shibuya arc. Licensed under Crunchyroll, the episodes will be available with English subtitles, and the dubbed version will be released later on.
Based on the manga series of the same name by Gege Akutami, the story follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he joins a secret organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to kill a powerful Curse named Ryomen Sukuna, of whom Yuji becomes the host. However, the new season will consist of various aspects of the story which the audience has been wondering about. Each episode has a runtime of 20-25 minutes.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 16 Ending Explained
The episode starts with Toji Fushiguro getting into an intense battle against none other than Megumi. On the other hand, Sukuna is up against Jogo, trying to win a bet that he proposed which conditions are that if Jogo ends up winning, Sukuna will become his slave. The episode contains a lot of shocking elements and some spectacular visually enhancing moments.
What happened to Toji Fushiguro?
Unaware that Toji is fighting against his own biological son, Megumi Fushiguro, Toji unleashes his wrath upon him. As the fight goes on, Megumi manages to dodge Toji’s attacks but not for long as he is gaining momentum on him at high speed. However, upon a closer look, Toji suddenly gets an epiphany and recognises Megumi. In a flashback, it is shown that Toji means to sell Megumi to the Zenins at a price because Megumi possesses cursed energy.
He stops in the middle of the fight and asks Megumi his name. Megumi says, “Fushiguro” and Toji takes the weapon in his hand and stabs his brain, ultimately killing himself. Megumi is surprised by the sudden action and when he walks up to the body, it turns into the original body form.

Is Jogo alive?
During Jogo’s fight with the great King of Curses, Sukuna, he held his side of the bet for far too long. With new innate techniques, he unleashed all his moves upon him. Moreover, in his last move, he almost burned down the entire city. However, it is a piece of cake for Sukuna to win against him. But Sukuna acknowledges Jogo’s strength at the end of the fight which provides a fair conclusion to his character.
