Inside Job Part 2 premiered on Netflix on November 18, 2022, with the major voice cast reprising their respective roles, except the one new addition of Adam Scott to the team as Ron Stadler. The sequel of the adult animated workplace comedy series created by Shion Takeuchi had 8 episodes this time around instead of 10, so there’s the speculative air probes into the possibility of a third season.
The sequel turned quite a few things around at Reagan’s workplace, Cognito Inc., a shadow government corporation, and even for matters related to her personal life. While the initial half of the season focused on her coping with her father, Rand Ridley’s takeover of the company she hoped to lead in her time, the second half made some colossal shifts in the way she saw him as well as her own role in the mess.
Netflix describes the second season of the show as follows:
Rand (Reagan’s father) is back in control of Cognito Inc., totally messing everything up, and Reagan is ready to kick some m*********ing ass. If only this annoying deal with Ron Stadler, the mind-erasing genius for the Illuminati, would stop getting in the way.

In the latest instalment of the series, Lizzy Caplan voices Reagan Ridley, Christian Slater voices her father – Rand Ridley, Tisha Campbell voices Gigi, Brett Gelman voices Myc, Clark Duke voices Brett Hand, Adam Scott voices Ron, John DiMaggio voices Glenn Dolphin, Bobby Lee voices Dr. Andre and more.
After raising a bunch of real-life conspiracies as raving issues in the show, it went on to question the role of the conspicuously secretive and ominous ‘Robes’. The last few moments of the final episode have turned the tables on Reagan’s ‘gang’ even if they’re not quite aware of the same yet. Let’s dig into the dirt and decipher what happened at the end of the recently released season.

Inside Job Part 2 Ending Explained
After her tussle with the blood-sucking reality of Keanu Reeves and some other A-list actors, Reagan started a new chapter of her life, falling for Ron, the mind-wiping personnel at Cognito’s rival shadow corporation – Illuminati. She also discovered her father’s true motives behind wanting to alter reality with his one of a kind invention. So here are the answers to some questions that may pop up in the mind of the show’s fans.
Did Reagan Take Over Cognito Inc.?
Despite all the hardships I her way, mostly caused by her own father, Reagan clinches her position as the new CEO of the Cognito Inc. The Black Robes claim that it was all a test to confirm if she would be able to take on these new responsibilities or not. They also promise her omniscience as themselves and Reagan announces her new project of coming up with a new unbiased algorithm because she deems human being unfit as leaders of the world.

What Happened to Reagan and Ron’s Relationship?
Ron finally confesses his love for Reagan after exiting the scene to think the alter over, but the decision is hard for Reagan despite her love for him. He asks her to move out to Appleton with him and lead a normal life, away from their constricting shadow government jobs as they have clearly taken a toll on their lives. In order to figure out a way to balance both sides of her life, Reagan goes over the million scenarios between them and realises that no one of them guarantees their happiness together.

She finds one possibility wherein Ron is happy in the end, with a family of his own but it doesn’t include her in the picture. As a result, when they reach Appleton, she erases all memories related to her and the Illuminati/ Cognito mess from his mind and returns back to Cognito Inc and accepts the Robes’ offer.
Why Did Rand Attempt to Alter Reality?
Reagan’s dysfunctional and disorderly dad declares that the reason why he was tampering with their reality was to bring back both his daughter and wife to the same timeline. While initially, the Robes had brought him in to question his leadership and seemingly remove him from his post, Rand tells Reagan that his attempts at altering their reality misfired and he ended up losing his family.

Was Brett Able to Assume His Responsibilities in Reagan’s Prior Absence?
The last remaining anomaly tampering with the balanced fabric of their universe post Rand’s reality-altering experiment requires the ‘Gang’ to terminate Air Bud. Robotus runs a future scan of their reality and declares that the team of such super dogs (cue The Planet of the Dogs) would eventually form a new lethal race that would endanger the lives of the people on Earth. However, with Reagan gone, Brett is left in-charge and he can’t bring himself to remove the cute dog from the equation.
After several arguments, they come up with the idea of banning Air Bud from partaking in NBA leagues, thus solving the former issue of their impending doom possibility. However, Air Bud is shown walking on its two feet after all, so we may not have seen the last of this problem and it may come back to bite the team later.
Are the Robes Good or Evil?
One thing that’s confirmed for now is that the dark hood adorning entities aren’t human and they have their own plans concerning a mysterious ‘Project X37′, for which they need Reagan. The revelation does manifest a foreboding aura so nothing good may come out of it, but it still helps build the subject matter for the possible upcoming chapter of the series that will help us learn more of the Robes’ existence and how Reagan tackles with new predicaments.

Inside Job Part 3: Will There Be Another Season?
Ideally, the show is a one complete whole divided into parts so it wouldn’t be deemed correct to view them as different seasons as per the terminology adopted by the series itself. While the first part of the season had over 10 episodes, the second one opted for a shorter run with only episodes and ended on a cliffhanger. Usually, such motives imply that a new season would be coming over to the platform soon but Netflix is quite infamously known for slashing down potential new seasons at the last minute.
No confirmation has been heard from the officials yet regarding another part of the story but if (and when) it happens, we already have a premise sending off the story to the next level.
Inside Job Part 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
