Love Never Lies Destination Sardinia: A Quick Recap

Six couples enter a luxurious villa in Sardinia. After spending their first night in the villa, they are separated from their partners the next day. The contestants then live in 2 separate villas where they form strong connections with other inmates.

The show also brings in their exes and some hot singles as ‘distractions’ to test the couples’ love. Manipulation and instigation rule the show of truths and lies. Couples are challenged and their honesty is tested.

The show’s host Monica Naranjo is a messenger for the couples and gives them insights from the other villa. The EyeDetect test and Ceremony of Truth help couples determine if their relationship is still valid. The entire show is a wild ride with a mix of steamy affairs and dejected lovers.

Love Never Lies Destination Sardinia Finale: Truth Conquers All

After a bemusing season for the show’s contestants and fans, the Finale episode seemed to clear some doubts, at least for the contestants. The couples sat through their last and final round of the EyeDetect test and confronted each other about their actions in the villa.

After the ceremony came to an end, couples were sent back to the villa where they spent the night with their original partners. The next day was the day of decision when based on their honesty during the EyeDetect test, one of the remaining 4 couples was going to be announced as the winner of the season.

Love never lies Destination Sardinia Finale Finale: Our Final Thoughts

The show remained a circus for me throughout. I was wrong to set some expectations from the finale episode as it proved to be a major letdown. The finale began with the final confrontation between the couples. Every time these contestants speak, their words confuse me even more.

After spending days and nights cuddling with strangers, the couples are now calling them “just friends” and justifying their actions. What’s more? Their partners are convinced that they are right and deserve a second chance. At this point, I was just waiting for the winner to be announced. The show maintained its fakeness even in the final episode and it only tested my patience.

Monica Naranjo was shedding tears for the couples’ reunion after putting them through hell and the couples could not thank her enough for ‘strengthening’ their bonds. It was a hilariously miserable sight.

Finally, the big moment came and the winner was announced. Honestly, I felt like a fool who was expecting a miracle. With so many staged moments, Love Never Lies Destination Sardinia announced Lucia and Antonio, the most toxic couple in the villa as their winner. Seriously? Do you want me to be ok with this decision?

My heart goes out to Antonio who was called “useless” by his toxic girlfriend. The poor guy was body-shamed on the show and was made to feel insecure about his physique. Ever since they entered the villa, Lucia treated Antonio as her attendant and her behaviour was often called out by the other inmates as well.

Even in the final episode, Lucia entered and started blaming Antonio for his deeds but when her actions were displayed on the screen, the entitled woman had no explanation for her wrong-doings and gave lame excuses for her behaviour.

Love Never Lies Destination Sardinia is one big mess. No amount of sexuality, scandals and beaches can save this show. Even if you want to kill time, I suggest you skip this show.
