Idol I Episode 7 Recap

The episode opens with Ra-ik being absolutely disappointed with Se-na because he finds out about her status as his fan. He rightfully becomes angry because he has always had a very bad perspective on his obsessive fans, many of whom treated him poorly throughout his life. Thus, something like this feels like a betrayal to him, especially because he started to consider Se-na to be very special. Ra-ik becomes so furious with this entire situation that he runs out of Se-na’s house and starts to consider all the things that had happened between them as fake.

Ra-ik moves back to his dorm, and he finds out that Young-bin, the youngest member of his band, is about to move because of the messy situation. Apparently, he is planning to quit because he feels bad for doubting Ra-ik. Ra-ik also gets to know from the manager that the prosecution wants to question Jae-hee. There is also something going on with Jae-hee because he is missing, and the president of his company wants to find him before the police do. Later, Ra-ik gets called by the prosecution for questioning, and he goes there without Se-na.

Se-na rushes to stop it, but Ra-ik is unwilling to listen to her. He also fires her from his lawyer’s position and leaves without saying anything to her. After this confrontation, Se-na gets into another verbal altercation with Byung-gyun. She confronts him for his handling of the case and even claims that he is an unlawful prosecutor just like his father. As Se-na literally cannot do anything anymore, she reaches out to Hye-joo so that Ra-ik can get a proper lawyer.

Ra-ik also feels devastated that he is not talking to Se-na. On the other hand, Chung-jae finally comes out and confesses his feelings for Se-na directly. Se-na refuses him right away without a second thought. Even though Se-na is not part of Ra-ik’s case anymore, she gets to know that the legal team of golden boys was actually revisiting their contract before the murder happened. It was about the clause about breach of trust, meaning there is a high chance someone from the group was about to betray them, and they got to know about it.

On that very day, Ra-ik finds himself outside of Se-na’s office, and the moment he sees her coming out, he hides. Then he silently follows her and sees that she went to the same place where Ra-ik took her to play the piano. Not only that, but Ra-ik also witnesses her drunken antics and looks after her, clearly not angry anymore. Most importantly, Ra-ik finally finds out about his cap, but he most likely had no idea that he was the one who gave it to her.

However, the biggest twist of this episode comes towards the end as Jae-hee gets into a car accident.

Idol I Episode 7 Review

I like today’s episode, precisely because they did not drag the ongoing conflict on for too long. From the next episode, we will most likely see Ra-ik and Se-na closer than ever before.
