Hye-joo comes to locate Ra-ik, who was having a peaceful moment with Se-na. After witnessing this, Hye-joo starts to suspect that something has been going on between Se-na and Ra-ik, and she confronts Ra-ik about it. Rather than denying her charges, Ra-ik just tells her to leave him alone because they are not together anymore and tells her not come to him ever again. Following this, we also see how Hye-joo was a very toxic girlfriend to Ra-ik, who only ever wanted to support and protect her. Things become a bit awkward between Se-na and Ra-ik after this, and Ra-ik truthfully tells her how he becomes very relaxed around her.

Se-na tries not to think too much about it and goes on with the investigation and her work. At the joint investigation of Jae-hee and Ra-ik, more secrets come to the surface. It becomes clear that somebody really tried to frame Ra-ik in every way possible. Jae-hee somehow got to know that Ra-ik is planning to change the company, and Woo-seong was supposed to stop Ra-ik from doing that.

Ra-ik tries to defend himself, but it is revealed that a huge amount of money was transferred to his mother’s account from that company, proving that he was involved with another company. However, as Ra-ik’s mother is a shady character and the CEO of his company has always used him for their own gains, there is a deeper conspiracy to all of this.

Ra-ik immediately goes to his mother to ask her what she did under his name. Rather than feeling guilty, she blames him and even tells him to surrender as soon as possible. She does not believe that Ra-ik is innocent and even tells him that if he surrenders willingly, his punishment will only be limited to 10 years. Needless to say, Ra-ik felt that no one actually cared for him, and that is when Se-na takes him to a special place. She makes him see how his fans who supported him from the very beginning actually loved him. Yes, he has rabid and weird fans as well, but many of them truly defend him from their whole heart.

The internal problems remain, but there is also the problem of Hye-jee, who keeps coming back one way or the other. She even meets Se-na and tries to tell her how much she and Ra-ik both love each other, even though Ra-ik clearly does not want anything to do with her. Later, Ra-ik realises how much he does not know about Se-na, and he asks her some personal questions about herself that night. He gets to know that she likes kimbap, thus, he decides to make it himself for her.

However, this one decision ends up becoming the biggest misstep ever, as while preparing for everything, Ra-ik comes across something he shouldn’t have. He finally finds all the stuff about him, revealing Se-na’s fangirl status to him. This came as a shock, but also as betrayal because he believed in Se-na so much.

Idol I Episode 6 Review

I really like today’s episode because it showcased a bit of everything. We got very subtle romance moments, but at the same time, we dive deep into the schemes of everyone, trying to frame Ra-ik. From the next episode, things will enter a major, tragic angle, and it will be intriguing to see what happens next.
