Brief I-LAND 2 Episode 8 Recap
The episodes kick off with the 12 I-LANDERS who have survived the initial phase, making it to the second leg of the journey. They discover that it’s now I-LAND 2: FINAL COUNTDOWN, where it’s revealed that over the course of four weeks, the ultimate debut group of i-LAND will be formed. However, a significant twist unfolds: the second part introduces individual matches, shaking up the dynamics. Following each test, rankings from 1st to 12th place are disclosed, with higher ranks yielding greater benefits.

Another critical rule emerges: a series of three tests will determine the finalists, with those not chosen by the producer and I-MATE facing elimination. Only those who successfully navigate all tests and endure until the end will secure their debut. The final bombshell drops as it’s disclosed that the ultra-girl group will comprise six members selected from this second phase.
In Part 2 of the show, a new host/storyteller was introduced, none other than ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Han-bin. His presence elevated the excitement among the members, particularly because ZEROBASEONE is revered as one of the best among the 5th generation groups, serving as direct seniors to the current participants who themselves debuted through a reality survival competition. He then revealed significant changes for this part: the testing process would no longer occur within the confines of the I-LAND building; instead, all performances would take place in front of I-MATE. Moreover, the evaluation system was revamped, with 50% of the scores coming from producers and the remaining 50% from I-MATE, thus adjusting the ranks of the I-LANDERS accordingly.

The first test announced for Part 2 was the BLACK MADE TEST, requiring participants to embody the musical style of THEBLACKLABEL. They were divided into three units, each comprising four members, and tasked with performing songs arranged by the label’s producers.
The producer curated three dynamic units for the performances. The first unit brought to life Lovesick Girls by Blackpink, featuring Choi Jungeun, Jeong Saebi, Nam Yuju, and Koko. Following this, the second unit electrified the stage with I AM THE BEST by 2NE1, led by Mai, Yoon Jiyoon, Kim Sujung, and Son Juwon. Lastly, the enchanting melodies of La Vie en Rose by IZ*ONE were delivered flawlessly by Ryu Sarang, Fuko, Kim Gyuri, and Bang Jeemin in the last unit.

During the performance in front of the I-MATE audience, Jeemin garnered 207 out of 233 votes, followed by Fuko with 191 votes, Sarang with 174, and Gyuri with 173. In the I AM THE BEST unit, Mai received 158 votes, Yoon Jiyoon 193, Kim Sujung 153, and Son Juwon 131. Lastly, in the Lovesick Girls unit, Choi Jungeun received 145 votes, Jeong Saebi 197, Nam Yuju 176, and Koko 196. The production scores will be unveiled in the next episode, revealing the new rankings and the recipients of the top 6 badges.
