Hunger Ending Explained

Aoy, who is frustrated with life, runs a fast-food restaurant that she inherited from her father until she is presented with a life-changing opportunity she cannot refuse. Tone, a junior sous chef working for renowned Chef Paul, sees her potential with one look and offers her to try out for the one-in-a-lifetime job. Impressed by her cooking skills, Chef Paul employs her as a junior chef; however, things soon start to go on a downward spiral.

Why did Aoy stop working for Chef Paul?

Aoy kept working for Paul even after his overbearing nature. He kept criticising her skills and demanded impossible things from her. But she pushed through it and wanted to give it her all until her breaking point, where she decided to no longer put up with his antics. The team was invited to cook for a wealthy man on a hunting expedition. The man shot down a rare woodpecker which was illegal to hunt, much rather devour it. Aoy displayed her dissent openly with the situation, but Chef Paul did not pay any heed towards her opinions. Aoy could no longer stand it and quit the team.

Aoy vs Chef Paul

Following Aoy’s decision to quit working for Paul, she was instantly employed by Mr Tos, who made her the head chef of his restaurant. Her unique skills quickly caught people’s attention, and she became a nationwide sensation. However, Tos was not satisfied with the success and suggested taking things further. He booked Aoy for a famous socialite’s birthday, where Paul Chef would also be cooking. A competition commences between the Chefs, and they present the best dishes for the guests. The battle between them escalated, and things started to heat up between them. A contrasting difference between the dishes could distinctly be seen.

What happened to Chef Paul?

A couple of cops arrived in the middle of the party and arrested Chef Paul. Panic started to spread throughout the room, and chaos ensued. Eventually, it was revealed that a video clip of him cooking the woodpecker was released to the public, and he was prosecuted for it. Paul accused Aoy of leaking the clip as he was being taken away by the police.

Did Aoy keep working for Mr Tos?

Tone confessed that it was he who had leaked the clip to the press, and Mr Toss was equally involved in it. They explained that the cooking industry was cut-throat and that leaking information was a normal thing to do. And Tone had nothing to offer besides the controversial clip. Aoy stood there in disbelief as she wanted to win over the people with her talent alone. She could not bear the guilt and gave up on her dream to become “special” altogether. She returned to her hometown and started to work at the fast-food restaurant along with her father, sister and friends.
