Peter Pan and Wendy: All About the New Cast and Characters Revealed in the Movie

Peter Pan and Wendy is an upcoming fantasy adventure film which is based on the novel by J.M. Barrie and the 1953 animated film Peter Pan. It is directed by David Lowery from a screenplay by Lowery & Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker is the producer, with Adam Borba, Thomas M. Hammel, and Halbrooks serving as executive producers.

The story follows a young girl named Wendy Darling, who doesn’t want to grow up & is afraid to leave her childhood home behind. Until one day when she meets the mythical Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up, right in her room. He takes her and her brothers along with a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, to the magical world of Neverland. There, they encounter an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, who wants to take his revenge on Peter, urging them to go on a thrilling adventure which might just change their lives forever.

Peter Pan – Alexander Molony

Alexander Molony plays the character of Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up due to the magical world of Neverland. He has mostly done voice acting in some animated movies and is known for playing the son of comedian Romesh Ranganathan in the sitcom The Reluctant Landlord.

Wendy – Ever Anderson

Ever Anderson plays the role of Wendy Darling, an adventurous girl who accompanies Peter Pan to the magical world, along with her brothers. She also plays a big role in helping Peter & realising that maybe growing up is the biggest adventure of all. She is also known for portraying a young Natasha Romanoff in the film Black Widow.

Tinker Bell – Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi plays the role of Tinker Bell, a tiny fairy and Peter Pan’s best friend. In the movie, she often gets jealous of Wendy and Peter’s closeness. Shahidi is best known for her role as the oldest daughter Zoey Johnson on the sitcom Black-ish and then later on the spin-off series Grown-ish.

Captain Hook – Jude Law

Jude Law plays the role of Captain Hook, a pirate who wants to take revenge on Peter ever since he cut off his right hand and fed it to a crocodile who has since developed a taste for his flesh. Since he wears a hook as a replacement for his hand, thus the name. Law was last seen in the HBO series The New Pope and the miniseries The Third Day, along with some upcoming projects this year.

John Darling – Joshua Pickering; Michael Darling – Jacobi Jupe

Joshua Pickering and Jacobi Jupe plays the role of Wendy’s younger brothers and apparently making their first debut with these roles.

Tiger Lily – Alyssa Wapanatahk

Alyssa Wapanatahk plays the role of Tiger Lily, a warrior princess of Neverland’s indigenous tribe and the daughter of the chief who is also Peter’s friend. Alyssa was last seen as Chloe Cardinal in Rehab and Perseverance Spears in the psychological drama Bones of Crows.

Mr Smee – Jim Gaffigan

Jim Gaffigan plays the role of Mr Smee, Captain Hook’s faithful first mate, who is always there for him but doesn’t really offer much help. Gaffigan is a known actor and stand-up comedian who even lent his voice as Lorenzo Paguro in the Pixar film Luca.

The Lost Kids

Among the lost kids Noah Matthews Matofsky plays Slightly, Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez as Nibs, Skyler and Kelsey Yates as Tudy and Rudy, Florence Bensberg as Curly, Caelan Edie as Tootles, Diana Tsoy as Birdie, and Felix De Sousa as Bellweather.

Peter Pan & Wendy is scheduled to be released on 28th April 2023 on Disney+.
