Hotstar Label Ending Explained: Crime thriller titles are infamous for rarely having written a conclusive resolution for their season finales; the same trend has been carried forth by the Arunraja Kamaraj directorial Tamil series now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The first season’s epilogue has left a bookmark on the chapter as even though the finale rolls out the carpet for Prabha’s happy ending after a long and arduous journey, it still leaves some doubts related to the big bad up in the air.
Starring Jai Sampath as Prabhakaran, Arish Kumar as Inspector Arul, Tanya Hope as Mahitha, Mahendran as Veera, Harishankar Narayanan as Kumar, Suresh Chakravarthy as Paramasivan, Ilavarasu as Inspector Muthuvel and others, the South Indian webseries consists a total of 10 episodes, with the last episode of the season premiering on the streamer on December 29, 2023. Titled “Sky on Fire”, it has a runtime of 35 minutes and rounds up back to the big focus of the show’s sombre foregrounding theme of one’s identity and the stereotypes that come to be associated with it in some cases as Kamaraj’s series revolves around the Article 20 of the Indian constitution.

Hotstar Label Episode 10 Recap
Contrary to the dire picture painted by Label Episode 9, the tenth entry commences with the relieving announcement of Veera and Kumar still being alive despite the cut-throat face-off they were up against with the Senguttuvan Label. Prabha takes on the responsibility of safeguarding them at his home. On the other hand, Bunk Suresh enlists new boys to step into Veera and Kumar’s shoes to stand beside him as they’re clearly not on the same page as him anymore.
The Senguttuvan Label also steps into actions, but their path is marred with more intra-community deceptions and blood-stained betrayals. In the parallel scenes, Prabha comes face to face with his past, which again acts a hindrance on his way to actualising his ultimate dream of becoming a judge.

Hotstar Label Ending Explained
Although Senguttuvan (D R K Kiran) had initially proclaimed that whoever managed to bring down Bunk Suresh would then enjoy the privilege of leading the Label, thus inheriting Paathalam’s former post. However, a new and unprecedented twist brings about Bunk Suresh’s end. After suffering at the hands of these several Labels, Kiruba’s mother has had enough and she takes matter into her own hands and slays Suresh herself, thus silently overturning the prevailing hierarchy and working of things.
As Veera and Kumar rescued by Prabha, he then continues the legal fight (Paathalam’s murder case) in their stead. In the same breath, the old murder case from Prabha’s childhood is also brought up, but since none of the children actually culpable of the crime, Paathalam included, is alive anymore, the court demands him to clear his name with solid and proper evidence. The last link from that day is Pazhanivel, yet another boy who was actively involved in the juvenile crime back then, but he too has been missing.

The whole thing again raises a question against Prabha’s credibility, given the wrongful assumptions associated with people hailing from the area he belongs to – Vaali Nagar. The last few episodes of the series has also revealed his father, Murugesan’s old ways as he too used to be a merciless, active member of Peter’s Label. Seeing Prabha fight the right fight, he’s deeply moved by his son’s efforts and work and decides to support his struggle. He plays a significant role in keeping Veera and Kumar safe.
Aadhi, a small player from Senguttuvan’s Label is again subjected to slander as the man in charge blames him for the fall of their Label’s army, while Veera and Kumar seemed to have made it to safety. Tired of all the humiliation, Aadhi speaks his mind by eliminating Senguttuvan in the absence of his lackey. But he isn’t off danger’s radar either as Thiyagarajan kidnaps him to make an example out of him and drive fear into Prabha’s heart. In the end, Aadhi also meets with death.

Ayya / Thiyagarajan (Uday Mahesh) is finally drawn out and it turns out he’s been hiding in plain sight all this long, but Prabha was quick enough to catch the hints and play his game against him.
Prabha spills the beans about how all that dense planning that seemed to have been built up to nab him, was actually meant to simply draw him out of his nest. Filing those 167 cases against him was all part of that plan, but he had an even more damning hidden cherry on top to win it all – Minister Anbarasan, whose son-in-law had been killed by Ayya.

Jai’s character riles up a petty theft case against Ayya to get him behind the bars, just so that his fingerprints can be registered into the system again. Police already had them due to an old case, but his identity was still a mystery at the time. Now when they take his fingerprints knowing him to be Ayya, they can easily match them with the previously acquired prints. The media would obviously telecast this big catch and the minister’s people will come after him too.
Muthuvel comes in to nab the “thief” and of course since he just beheaded Aadhi in front of Prabha, yet another charge is raised against him, with everything working out in Prabha’s favour, but not quite.

Senguttuvvan’s lackey eventually ends up at the police station to report the latest happenings and his boss’ tragic end, and it turns out that this man is also the very person Prabha had been on the lookout for – Pazhanivel. A smile lights up Prabha’s face and mood on seeing him as he instantly recognises the man as the young boy from his childhood memories. In the end, the one missing piece that Prabha has been looking for to back his case, serendipitously ends up coming his way himself.
A few months later, as depicted in the epilogue, Veera and Kumar are in the prison, but this time rightfully serving their sentence without creating any upheavals or chaos.

Vaali Nagar, a place that was initially reduced to being the hub of all criminal activities, now comes to be known in association with a judge’s house. “Who’s this judge?”, one may ask, it’s but of course, our very own main character, Prabha.
While it all works out for Prabha despite Ayya trying his best to intimidate him and stirring up the pot by reeling in the old football field murder case to stop him from actualising his dream, things don’t end there. The series is left on an open-ended note as a mysterious man “from the capitals” visits a secluded tank container to meet someone. A heavily bearded Ayya seems to have been cooped up in there. How did he end up there? Who was beckoning him after all this time? Could this be a sign of trouble? A potential Season 2 may give us the answers in the future if there ever is one.

The confusion I have got is, how come Prabha recognised that Thyagarajan is Ayya. He may say that those huge number of cases were filed to bring Ayya out. But at which point exactly did Prabha find. Since Thyagarajan was playing everyone that Ayya is above him.
