Head Over Heels Episode 4 Recap

The episode opens with Seong-ah daydreaming about their rather romantic hand-holding the previous day, while Gyeon-woo blushes about it while practising his archery as well. Elsewhere, Yeom Hwa pays a visit to Ok-soon at the columbarium in a rather creepy fashion! Meanwhile, a streamer goes to the haunted house from the day before and is immediately attacked by the inhuman entity, even though General Dongcheon warns him not to do so.

The next day, Seong-ah comes up with better ways to protect Gyeon-woo and ends up giving him a lip balm in the most awkward way. Things get sweeter between the two, even though Seong-ah is extremely awkward around Gyeon-woo while protecting him. Even Ji-ho feels left out, more so because he’s jealous of her crush on Gyeon-woo and how close they are getting.

That evening, while General Dongcheon and Seong-ah try to rid the haunted building of the ghost, Yeom Hwa pays Gyeon-woo a visit. She got all of the photos from the columbarium and drew amulets on them, and then she performs a ritual on him to ward off his evil from their family. The next morning, when her classmates accuse her of being a shaman, she desperately tries to placate everyone, which angers Gyeon-woo to the point that he fights with everyone for him and talks down on her for not standing up for herself.

Later, Gyeon-woo helps Ji-ho with archery practice, and the latter opens up about having a crush on Seong-ah. That night, General Dongcheon reminisces about her time with Yeom Hwa, and it’s clear that they used to share a close bond. On their way back home, they suddenly come across Gyeon-woo, who adamantly asks Seong-ah to take her mask off. She refuses, and he texts Seong-ah to meet him to comfort her. At the park, the lights go out, and the two hold hands in the darkness as she tries to keep him safe from the ghosts around them.

The next day, they bike to school together with warm smiles and happy hearts. That night, she comes across Yeom Hwa, who has also come to the haunted building but is being extremely shady. She baits her to perform the ritualistic dance together, and just as they finish, Gyeon-woo walks in on them together, his heart completely breaking at the sight..

With Gyeon-woo now aware of Seong-ah’s truth, things are about to go down a dark rabbit hole. I am both heartbroken and intrigued to figure out how Seong-ah will stand up to Yeom Hwa, or will it be General Dongcheon? Either way, things are going to get worse before they get better, and I can’t stand the heartbreak of them not being friends after the sweet, budding romance between the two over the last two episodes!
