Hasan Minhaj The King’s Jester Trailer: High on Energy, Clears the Debate on Chai Tea At Once

Hasan Minhaj The King’s Jester is an upcoming standup by the comedian as he returns to Netflix with his second stand-up comedy special. The Emmy and Peabody Award winner for “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj” will perform at the historic Brooklyn Academy of Music, which has a runtime of about 1 hour.

The official synopsis of the show reads, “Hasan Minhaj shares his thoughts on fertility, fatherhood and freedom of speech in this follow-up to his award-winning comedy special “Homecoming King.” In his last special, he performed to a packed house at the Mondavi Center in Minhaj’s hometown of Davis, CA. The special draws on his experience as a Muslim American, as Minhaj riffs on racism, immigrant parents, prom night horrors and more.

Meanwhile, with his second show, he wishes to push the envelope back as he talks about his life, what he has been up to, the Netflix show he hosted and all the other things in America that he can’t wrap his head around.

The trailer starts off with the comedian and host asking his audience in Brooklyn if he can trust them. Well, it might make you think that he must be about to talk about something very personal or controversial and goes off to say, “I know everybody likes Starbucks. But I hate the fact that..” Now remembering his Patriot Act episodes, he might be revealing something important.

But he says further that he hates that they have a drink called Chai Tea. Because the Hindi word Chai means tea only. He says, “You’re saying tea tea, you dumb dumb.” Added with some naan bread pun on to it, before laying down on the stage in disappointment.

Followed by his take on his Indian counterparts in the industry and whom he clearly hates and loves, by impersonating them. Directed by Prashanth Venkataramanujam, the whole trailer is full of energy as Minhaj is running around and talking animatedly loud throughout; we should expect the whole act to be full of laughs.
