Go Go Loser Ranger Episode 9 Recap

This episode starts with the exam where Kai and his team begin to gain the upper hand. Kai has mastered his new weapon, allowing his party to push back D and his friends. Meanwhile, the Rangers, who believe their cause is superior, engage in a direct conflict to secure their spot in the Rangers association.

However, it’s evident that everyone has a bitter past and has worked hard to be at the training D centre. Despite their efforts, D and his friends still hold an advantage, with D being the only one struggling against Kai. The stakes are high, as D aims to shatter Kai’s belief that a boss can survive by winning the exam. Conversely, Kai is determined to win to uncover the truth about a boss villain he believes is responsible for his brother’s death.

The situation takes a turn when Koguma unexpectedly attacks Kai. This is soon overshadowed by the arrival of a vengeful Blue Rider, who uncovers the truth about XX and D.

This episode challenges our emotions and ideologies. Initially, it seemed the Rangers association was unjustly targeting a harmless villainous army. However, it becomes clear that the villainous army harbours dangerous intentions and poses a significant threat to humanity.

From the invaders’ perspective, humans are the villains, but from humanity’s view, the invaders must be eradicated.

Today’s episode was action-packed and full of fight sequences. It begins with the Blue Ranger forcing XX to take him and D to where Peltora is hiding. Apparently, it is a place that was pretty near to the training arena and to safeguard that area XX has been collecting the keys so that others cannot come here.

However, after getting a good beating from the Blue Ranger, XX finally decides to disclose the location, and here we find an ominous-looking tree with the face of Peltora. Peltora, at first, tries to reason with Blue Ranger and tells him that they do not need to fight. But sensing this trickery, the Blue Ranger attacks the tree right away which results in round orbs falling from it.

These then turn into a modified version of Peltora himself, and they start to fight with the Blue Ranger, claiming that only one of the forms is real and the others are fake. In reality, all of them are real, and if only one form of Peltora heads to the surface, then he will be able to recuperate in human society and come back stronger than ever.

His plan was very good but what he did not keep into account was the additional arrival of foot soldier D, who is not like any other foot soldier. We know that D has been thinking about his actual wish for a very long time and has an inner conflict regarding the whole scenario. Even though he wants world domination, he doesn’t necessarily want the destruction of humans, especially so when he has human friends now.

His dilemma and actual wish are further explained when we see him getting knocked out and having a dream about his ideal world. Here, we see him being the most important person in the world, and living a life of luxury, but also treating humans with care. His dream is equivalent to what every other human wishes, which is to have endless appreciation and the money to buy anything. But that is the extent of it, and it does not involve him being tyrannical or being a mass murderer like his boss Peltora.

Verdict

The conclusion of this episode was very interesting as we finally see D coming to terms with his ideologies and witness him pick a path that suits him best. It will be interesting to see how he will manage to create a society that is different from what the Rangers and the boss monsters want.
