The makers of the much-anticipated sequel Gadar 2 have shared the first look poster on Twitter and other social media platforms. The film starring Sunny Deol is the continuation of the 2001 blockbuster Gadar directed by Anil Sharma. And will mark the return of both in their respective roles, to bring forth the action fest.
Furthermore, the film will also feature a recurring cast of Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. Along with Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, Manish Wadhwa, Sajjad Delafrooz, and Gaurav Chopra. Notably, the flick will be produced under the banner of Anil Sharma Productions, and Zee Studios.
For the unversed, the film tells the story of a truck driver Tara Singh (played by Sunny Deol), who eventually marries Sakina (Ameesha Patel), during the time of the Partition period of India. The film revolves around strong themes like communal harmony and the aftermath of orthodox notions.
The film was noted for its blockbuster music and dialogues and became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. Apart from this, it was nominated for multiple Filmfare awards, including Best Actor and Best Actress nominations for Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel respectively.
The official announcement for the sequel was made in 2021 and went on board the following year. Furthermore, the highly anticipated continuation is written by Shaktimaan Talwar, who also wrote the screenplay for the predecessor.
This time around the music of the film will be composed by Mithoon (Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain) and the lyrics penned by Sayeed Quadri. Moreover, Najeeb Khan serves as the cinematographer of the project while Ashfaque Makrani is the editor. Plus, the flick will be distributed by Zee Studios.
