Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi: Munna Bhai Duo to Join Forces for an Untitled Feature

For all the Munnabhai fans out there, the shining duo of Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi are back with another project, ready to create a rumble. Their buddy cop dynamic and chemistry on screen in unparalleled, making fans extremely excited for their return.

This news comes after film critic Taran Adarsh shared it on his Twitter account. Dutt and Warso are both seen wearing the staple white and black garb designed to depict the Indian prison uniform. Staring somewhere into the distance, the poster shows both of them behind bars, perhaps indicating that they are cell mates in this prison.

While the film has no title just yet, it is confirmed that the film is slated to release this year. This film will be their first direct collaboration after the worldwide success of their film series, Munnabhai. Sanjay Dutt will be producing the film along with Three Dimension Motion Pictures, and Sidhaant Sachdev will be at the helm leading as the director.

Last time the duo collaborated was with the second film in the Munnabhai series, titled Lage Raho Munnabhai, which featured the duo as gang members trying to make their living in Mumbai city. However, Munna falls deeply in love with a radio jockey who puts Gandhian values above all, so he lies to her in an attempt to get closer. In the midst of this, Munna himself starts emulating the Gandhian values and even questions their relevance in the current landscape. It is a brilliant film that recognises the invalidity of some of these ideals while also making certain interesting points about universal goodness.

This will be Arshad Warsi’s next project after Bachchhan Pandey, which came out in March of last year. The film follows an aspiring film director, Myra, who needs to make a convincing gangster film filled with action and adventure. To study how she could bring it to life, Myra meets Bachchhan in Baghwa. This is where Myra runs into her best friend Vishu, played by Warsi. The two get together in figuring out how to get an audience with the gangster while also keeping themselves safe.

Dutt was last seen in Shamshera, where he played the local police officer tasked with keeping the people in the village in check. While he may seem like a harmless officer doing his job, he is extremely comfortable with oppressing the people in the Khameran tribe. However, his character dies at the film’s end, humiliated beyond reproach.

Both actors have been a part of extremely action-heavy dramas this past year. If the new poster is any indication of what the movie will be like, it is possible that this could be an easy comedy film. Lage Raho Munnabhai is available to stream on Netflix, while Shamshera and Bachchhan Pandey are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
