Flex X Cop Episode 7 Recap and Review: The new series directed by Kim Jae-hong, known for his hits Revenant and written by Kim Ba-da, who is well known for her successful series My Name, is highly welcomed in the Kdrama world. The exceptional collab between the famous director and the writer stars famous actors, Ahn Bo-hyun, Park Ji-hyun, Kang Sang-jun and Kim Shin-bi, in the lead roles. It’s a mix of action, romance, comedy and thriller genres, making the whole watch worthwhile.
Ahn Bo-hyun’s last venture was See You In My 19th Life (2023), Park Ji-hyun was last seen in Reborn Rich (2022), Kang Sang-jun’s ongoing series is Marry My Husband (2024) and Kim Shin-bi’s last work was Revenant (2023).
Flex X Cop Plot
Jin I-soo, born into a third-generation conglomerate, enjoys a life of abundance, devoid of the need for assistance from others. His world takes an unexpected turn when he becomes embroiled in a complex case. Driven by the desire for a new challenge, Jin I-soo makes a surprising decision.
Opting to immerse himself in the gritty world of crime-solving, Jin I-soo joins the Kangha Police Station’s violent investigative team, specialists in apprehending robbers. His motivation is to leverage his wealth and personal connections to make a difference in the field. In this venture, he partners with Detective Lee Gang-hyun, a dedicated and adept investigator known for his smooth-talking skills.
Despite I-soo’s affluent background, Gang-hyun remains indifferent to his presence, setting the stage for a compelling partnership rooted in the pursuit of solving crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice. As they delve into the intricacies of their work, the narrative promises a blend of wealth, intrigue, and the challenges inherent in the world of criminal investigation.

Flex X Cop Episode 7 Recap
The episode starts with the investigation of Choi Seonu’s corpse. Choi Seonu is the CEO of SW Soft, and the detectives wonder how he died due to dehydration despite the fact there were water bottles right next to him. I-soo keeps stating that this case is going to be difficult but Kang-hyun doesn’t bother. Their first two suspects are a psychiatrist at YK Hospital and Sang-gu, a colleague of Seonu. Firstly, I-soo and Kang-hyun visit YK Hospital which treats only the rich.
Over there they meet a psychiatrist Dr. Yuk-yung and I-soo gets lost in thoughts after he sees a snow globe. During the interrogation, the doctor says that she can not give any details without a warrant. But she states the basic details about Seonu’s issues stating he had panic attacks and believed somebody was going to kill him. Meanwhile, Joon-young and Kyung-jin visit SW Soft and learn that their company is under a critical issue as Seonu wasted all the funds on buying coins. On asking about Sang-gu, they get his home address and visit there.
When they go, what they find is a week-old corpse of Sang-gu who was murdered by someone. The detectives fix that Seonu would have killed Sang-gu as the two were blackmailing patients of YK hospital and getting money so to get rid of all monetary issues. When Sang-gu decided to not work along, perhaps Seonu killed him. All this information is piled up after they find out from Euna, I-soo’s ex that she also was blackmailed for money and she gave them the cash.
While all these keep going on, I-soo’s dream keeps recurring and his nights get spoiled. At his home, he has the same snow globe that he saw in the psychiatrist’s office. Moreover, Kang-hyun suspects that the psychiatrist knows I-soo given she had a different look on him. Days pass and they keep finding more hints which leads to the point where they realise there is another person who took the lives of all of them. When they revisit the psychiatrist and inform her about Sang-gu’s death and the blackmailing event, she still denies giving out information.

I-soo gets to speak alone with her and he asks about a recurring dream to which she says that it means his suppressed memory is trying to jump out. When I-soo and Kang-hyun leave, the psychiatrist texts I-soo’s father and says that he’s slowly getting back his memory. I-soo gets lost in thought wondering about the psychiatrist’s words. The detectives then find a hint about a USB and decide to find out. Kyung-jin and Joon-young rummage SW Soft while Kang-hyun and I-soo leave for Sang-gu’s apartment.
I-soo gets in first and gets attacked by a killer inside. They both fight and the killer escapes. When Kang-hyun comes inside the apartment she finds I-soo jumping out of the window to catch the criminal and he successfully does it. When he happily expresses his victory Kang-hyun gets mad at his recklessness and yells at him.
When they return to the office, Kang-hyun gets a call from her mother regarding an SBC reporter seeking details about I-soo’s late mother. Kang-hyun goes through the case files and learns the I-soo’s mother was found dead in a bathtub and the case was handled by her father. She remembers I-soo telling her that his mother died in a car accident. Kang-hyun realises that I-soo’s memory of his mother’s death has been altered and she looks at I-soo with weary eyes.
Flex X Cop Episode 7 Review
The episode was really good and it has set the tone for the upcoming shocking truths. I-soo’s mother died when he was 7 years old and he has been made to believe that his mother died in a car accident. However, evidence shows that it’s a suicide attempt. Why did they alter I-soo’s memory? Was it a suicide or a murder portrayed as such? What role does Kang-hyun’s father play? Why is I-soo’s father desperate to change his son’s memories? All the questions will be answered in a way so many dirty truths will come into broad daylight.
Kang-hyun is slowly feeling sorry for I-soo and a soft spot is getting created. Soon after this the more they discover things together, Kang-hyun will become the true source of care for I-soo with whom he can fearlessly be. He is such a hasty person who only listens to Kang-hyun and it’s very cute to see. Hopefully more romance will blossom soon and make our hearts warm.
