Fire Force Season 3 Episode 7 Recap

Fire Force Season 3 Episode 8 Review
Fire Force Season 3 Episode 8: Still

The episode starts with a dramatic entrance from Captain Benimaru, who appears wearing an unusual mask to conceal his identity. Despite the disguise, it’s immediately obvious to everyone who he is. His arrival quickly turns the tide of battle, and it’s clear he has the strength to take on the enemies without assistance.

Yet even Benimaru recognises that Dragon poses a significantly greater threat than the rest. Understanding the risk, he takes swift action to ensure the safe evacuation of Company 8 from the battlefield. What’s most unsettling is that Haumea had already anticipated this outcome, suggesting a deeper level of manipulation at play.

Following their retreat, Company 8 regroups under the protection of Benimaru’s unit. Captain Obi then lays out the grim reality that they are being framed. He explains that the Holy Sol Temple has allied itself with the Evangelists, turning the narrative against Company 8 and painting them as villains.

Obi even correctly foresees that the death of Captain Burns will be blamed on them, and this prediction soon comes true. Meanwhile, questions arise surrounding the St. Raffles Convent, the place where both Iris and Hibana were raised. Hibana takes it upon herself to investigate, suspecting a connection between the convent, a mysterious fire, and the strange Doppelgangers.

She is joined by Karim and Huo, and together, they uncover a hidden underground chamber. What stands out immediately is that this secret room shows no signs of damage from the fire that ravaged the rest of the convent.

Everyone is shocked to see sister Sumire, but she acts as if nothing has happened. It also gets exposed that the sisters experimented on doppelgangers by using the kids. They literally exploited children to create pyrokinetics. Not just that, they managed to do it by adding Adolla insects into the vegetables that the children consumed. This theory also confirms the mysterious fire that destroyed the church, as simultaneous combustion happened to the sisters, and they all died.

However, when Hibana tries to ask more questions, Sumire easily defeats the people who enter her abode. It is revealed that ever since the first great cataclysm failed, Sumire has been preparing pillars for the next great cataclysm. She has been living for 250 years, which clearly proves that she is not a human. But things become really difficult for Hibana when she witnesses her friends have been turned into demon children. On top of that, it is shown that Sumire is the 7th filler.

Somewhere else, Arthur was depressed as he kept thinking about how he could not do anything against a stronger enemy. He’s also sad that his sword got destroyed. To cheer him up, Vulcan decides to play his little make-believe game and pretend to forge a sword from a mysterious and mythical metal, which is just a plain material that you can find everywhere.

Thus, Vulcan plans an elaborate scenario where he would make Arthur go on a quest for this metal. Not only that, he even makes the residents of Asakusa help him.

Fire Force Season 3 Episode 8: Still

The first part of the episode was definitely more serious, but the last part ends on a funnier note. We get a lot more information about the human combustions and doppelgangers in this episode, but nothing is properly cleared. One thing is certain: the main plot is entering a massive conspiracy.
