Expectations: (G)I-DLE’s MINNIE and Anne Marie Are Set to Let the “Cat Out of the Bag” With Their Collaboration

The reported claims have come to fruition as (G)I-DLE’s MINNIE and Anne Marie are indeed collaborating for the single Expectations. A week old speculations have now found their footing in an official announcement made by the K-pop girl group’s Twitter page and Warner Music as well.

Marie already has an avid fan following in Korea as she had previously come together with the Korean boy group SEVENTEEN, for a new version of their song _WORLD, and has even expressed her desire of collaborating with a few K-pop idols like Taeyeon. She’s visited the country before for some performances as well, but now things are starting to look up as the bedazzled, intriguing and adorable announcement post featuring a cat as the music cover photo has generated quite the buzz around these artists’s upcoming project.

Expectations: GIDLE Minnie and Anne Marie

It’s even more interesting to see how music breaks through all boundaries as Marie, a British singer, and Minnie, a K-pop idol, who actually shares Thai roots, are joining forces. The music cover visual boasts a look out of a scrapbook, sprinkled with glitter, stars, dazzling hearts, a cat and funky fonts, all of which point towards a gratifying and cheerful result, slated for its release in March.

It would be an understatement to put this news across as an exciting feat. Twitter is already buzzing with hype from all sides since fans of both the artists can’t wait for the D-day. Even though the song hasn’t even been released yet, positive affirmations are on the rise for this ‘unexpected’ partnership, that has gained its status as the ‘collab of the year’ even before the much-anticipated premiere. It’s safe to say that the news has already surpassed our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for more to make our day better.

Minnie last came out with In The Novel, the original soundtrack off the manga It Was All a Mistake in January 2023, whereas Marie released her single SAD B!TCH in February 2023.
