Emotions have taken over EXO members and fans alike. The Korean mandatory military enlistment law generally means that idols who have been performing for the people have to leave in order to fulfil their duty to their country. For Kai, a member of the band EXO, this was a private occasion. Band members were with him when he was sent off, but fans weren’t given specific information about where and when he would be making this transition. In order to celebrate the fact that another one of their members was joining the military, they clicked some sweet and heartwarming images.
EXO Members Send Off Kai
Members of the band are all seen wearing casual clothes, while the band member gets a military crew cut and is dressed plainly in black tracks and a white T-shirt. There is a group image with all of the members standing together and sharing a thumbs up towards the camera. The next picture, however, is the pinnacle of friendship, when the members all crowd around the newly assigned cadet to feel his shaved head. It is quite a symbolic image since almost all of them have finished their assignments, and the image looks like they’re trying to give him their strength.
On May 3, 2023, SM Entertainment officially shared that the artist will join the military even though he was scheduled to participate in the EXO Comeback this year. According to the entertainment agency, the situation had to develop this way because of certain regulations that were changed by the Military Manpower Administration. Kai joined the military service on May 11, 2023, and will receive basic training before starting his assignment as a public service worker.
He is the seventh member of the band to start his mandatory military service. Previously, members like Xiumin, D.O, Suho, Chen, Chanyeol, and Baekhyun started and even completed their service. Apart from being a message of hope for the rest of the band, this was also a great way to appease the fans who were incredibly interested in the news of the enlistment. Fans have been sharing their responses on Twitter, expressing that they will wait for the band member to come back after his service.

Other songs from the EP include, Black Mirror, Slidin’, Bomba, Say You Love Me, and Sinner.
Rover is currently streaming on Spotify along with other music by EXO. How do you feel about EXO Kai’s military enlistment? Let us know in the comments below.
