Everything to Know About Stolen Heartbeats: Netflix’s New Colombian Thriller About a Woman Trapped Between Life and Death

Everything to Know About Stolen Heartbeats: Netflix is again proving that it does not believe in letting us have a normal thriller. Its latest Colombian series, Stolen Heartbeats, comes with the kind of premise that sounds very dramatic. A woman is left in a coma after a brutal attack; the responsible people are still looking for her, and the nurse caring for her, Rafael, who has the strange ability to hear the dead, must fight to keep her alive before her enemies can find her.

Premiering on September 11 on Netflix, Stolen Heartbeats blends medical drama with mystery, supernatural elements, and conspiracy. At its centre are Anabel, a woman fighting for her life while trapped in a coma, and Rafael, the nurse who becomes her unlikely connection to a world beyond the living.

Everything to Know About Stolen Heartbeats: What is it About?

Stolen Heartbeats follows Anabel after an attack that leaves her in a coma: she cannot simply wake up and explain what happened around her and point at whoever is responsible. She is unconscious while the threat around her continues to grow and her enemies are still searching for her, turning her recovery into a race against time.

Rafael is a nurse with an unusual ability to “hear the dead”. His ability brings a supernatural layer to the premise that seems to be a straightforward medical thriller otherwise, connecting him to secrets and voices that exist beyond what others can see.

Together, Anabel and Rafael are caught in a fight to keep her alive before the people who hurt her can find her. The question is not just whether Anabel will wake up or not, but whether she will survive long enough to get the chance.

Who Are Anabel and Rafael?

Anabel is the core of the mystery. The series is centred around Anabel after the attack that leaves her comatose, meaning audinece are perhaps dropped into a story where something is already wrong.

Her unconsciousness also makes her an unusual protagonist, as she cannot actively investigate what happened to her in the traditional sense and cannot confront the people after her or even tell Rafael what she knows.

Her coma state does not feel like the end of the story but rather more like the strange beginning of it. There is clearly a larger mystery surrounding Anabel, her enemies and the events that led to the attack.

Rafael is the show’s wild card if Anabel is the mystery. Rafael works as a nurse and becomes involved in Anabel’s situation, but his ability to hear the dead makes him more than an ordinary medical professional.

It is a particularly interesting choice for the story because hospitals are already places where life and death sit uncomfortably close and Stolen Heartbeats take that idea and pushes it straight into supernatural territory. Rafael can hear the dead which immediately asks: what do they know?

The Supernatural Element Changes Everything

Netflix series Stolen Heartbeats could easily have been a conventional conspiracy thriller about a woman trying to survive an attack and uncover who wanted her dead but giving one of the central characters the ability to hear the dead completely changes the dynamics.

The living can lie but the dead have technically nothing to lose. Rafael could potentially receive information that no witness alive can provide but the natural follow-up question would be whether his ability can actually be trusted and how would he convince.

Supernatural mysteries are not simple and if people around Anabel are hiding things, Rafael’s strange ability could become the biggest threats to the secrets they are trying to protect.

When Does Stolen Heartbeats Release?

Stolen Heartbeats premieres on September 11, 2026, on Netflix. The series is also known by En coma, its original title and comes from Colombia, adding another international thriller to the Netflix’s catalogueof non-English dramas.

The first season is listed with 10 episodes giving it plenty of space to unfold its mystery while balancing the survival and the supernatural ability.

The Botton Line

Netflix’s Stolen Heartbeats has one of the very Netflix premise that is almost impossible to explain without making people curious.

Anabel is in comatose state after an attach; her enemies are still searching for her; Rafael, the nurse caring for her , acn hear the dead; together both of them have to find a way to keep Anabel alive before the people hunting her find her.

It is a medical drama with supernatural mystery, conspiracy thriller and being telenovela at heart. By Stolen Heartbeats Netflix is asking us to spend September 11 watching a woman fight for her life while the nurse listens to voices beyond the living.

Watch Stolen Heartbeats on September 11, 2026, on Netflix.
