On November 5th, South Korean Boyband EPEX makes their comeback with their second full-length album Youth Chapter 2: Youth Deficiency with the title track UNIVERSE MV. Youth Chapter 2: Youth Deficiency is the band’s second full-length album consisting of the songs- UNIVERSE, My Girl, 1997, It Is What It Is, Attosecond, Wonderful, Closer, and Loner. With My Girl being pre-released on October 14th, ahead of the release of the album, the band marks their comeback with a banger.

I have to begin by commenting on how uplifting this song is; it holds the potential to be a saver for many out there as it fills the listener with joy. Bringing a special feeling to viewers, this song is certainly catchy, hyping, smooth, and takes you to a happier place. The song brings happiness to the saddest faces and with the way the music video plays out, the message is quite clear.
Picking out the saddest soul and taking them to a place where happiness surrounds them, and they become loved, this song is simply healing. The exciting beats are an addition to the positive message the band is throwing out there and these rhythms complete the masterpiece that they have presented to us all.
Meanwhile, the visuals are simply breathtaking. Be it the members of the band or the set-up of the music video, everything is beautiful and takes you on somewhat of a fantasy journey that becomes your escape. As they find the lonely person in the crowd and help them escape, the imagery is so mesmerising that it seems like the kind of dream I would want to escape into.
On the other hand, the choreography is so smooth and a perfect fit for the overall mood that there is no room for any awkwardness. It goes perfectly with the song and the video, making this a beautiful experience for those watching the video. It builds up beautifully and the dance moves are just smoothly flowing with the overall feel of the video.
But the real magic is in the vocals of the band members. Easy on the ear and soothing to the heart, their vocals are surely something that is making me want to listen to the whole album already. Listening to their singing is a joy in itself and I am absolutely loving the magic that they are creating with their beautiful vocals. The blend of their voices is done perfectly and it is a pleasure to listen to the song.
Finally, the cinematography of this music video has blended every element and emotion the song is portraying. The scenery and the camera work are just wonderful and enchanting. It is like a fairyland that I am being taken to where I know that I am seen and loved. The feeling created in this music video is really precious and pulls me towards the band’s music.
Overall, this song is bringing the spotlight to this Boyband and they surely deserve it. Their comeback is strong and I am excited to check out the rest of the album as soon as possible.
