Drops of God is an upcoming multilingual series based on the popular Manga series of the same name created and written by Tadashi Agi. The trailer of the show dropped on April 4, 2023, which has increased the anticipation among fans. Created by Quoc Dang Tran, the story follows a woman who discovers her estranged father’s greatest wine collection and has to compete against a Japanese wine taster to win the inheritance.

The minute-long trailer gives us an overview of what the series will be about. It opens with introducing the main character, Camille, who is approached by a few people who worked with her father. However, she has not been in touch with him for several years. Before passing away, Mr Leger leaves a video message addressing his only daughter, including a massive and one of the most expensive wine collections in the world.
Another character is introduced, a Japanese man named Issei Tomine, who Leger adopted a week prior before passing away. As per the conditions in Mr Leger’s will, the one who is successfully able to correctly identify the “12 Apostles” of wines as well as the legendary “Drops of God” will inherit the wine collection along with the estate.
This leads to a battle between the two competitors to acquire the wealth. But Camille is unaware of the fact that Tomine is an experienced wine taster and is referred to as “The Prince of Wine”. Camille sets her mind to achieving her goal and rigorously works towards it. The process of acquiring the knowledge quickly leaves her mentally and physically drained. Will she be able to win the race against time and Tomine?
Most of the story and characters are similar to the manga series, with a significant change in the lead characters. Originally the lead character is also Japanese and male, but the creative decision was made to replace it with a female lead character. From the looks of the trailer, the series looks promising.
The show stars Fleur Geffrier as Camille Leger in the lead role alongside Tomohisa Yamashita as Issei Tomine. Makiko Watanabe, Satoshi Nikaido, Antoine Chappey, Kyoko Takenaka are the various supporting cast that will be included. With a runtime of approximately 40-45 minutes, the series will consist of a total of 8 episodes.
