Dr Stone Season 4 Episode 9 Recap

Contrary to expectations, Senku begins bleeding profusely and is quickly taken inside for treatment. It is later revealed that the bag he designed managed to absorb much of the impact, preventing a fatal outcome. However, his condition remains critical, and without immediate medical attention, his life is in jeopardy. This is where Luna unexpectedly becomes crucial to the situation.

Despite not being an exceptional doctor, Luna has some medical knowledge, having gained admission to medical school through her father’s influence. Though her skills are limited, she is the only one available to help. She steps in to assist Senku, motivated by her desire to save lives, and her growing feelings for him. Meanwhile, Kohaku and Chrome finally come face-to-face with Tsukasa’s group.

In a fortunate turn of events, a coded message from their main ship reaches them. The cipher, based on an ancient Japanese method, ensures that their American adversaries cannot decipher the communication. As a result, Tsukasa’s team learns about Senku’s condition, prompting Chrome to take on a greater role. Realizing how much faith Senku has in him, he begins to step up, embracing the responsibility of leading scientific advancements in Senku’s absence.

The most shocking moment of the episode, however, is Senku’s decision to send the petrification device to Zeno. The reasoning behind this bold move remains unclear, suggesting a deeper strategy at play.

Even though Senku is hurt, the Kingdom of Science refuses to back down. Chrome takes Senku’s position as the person responsible for scientific experiments and picks up the work of developing a drill. He comes up with the design for the drill and lets Kaseki do the actual crafting. It comes out marvellous and everyone is in awe of this machine that very much looks like it can kill people.

The Kingdom of Science also decides to send someone to the drilling team for the time being, and Taiju gets selected. He puts Luna and Yuzuriha in charge of Senku and sets on his journey. However, he hilariously also takes Carlos, the driver of Luna, along with him because he knows that he will be followed anyway. On the other hand, Luna quickly falls for Senku’s charms and gives him a weird proposition, she will help him out, but in return, he will become her boyfriend.

Hearing this, Carlos practically loses it and well he becomes a helper for the Kingdom of Science. Now that both the parties have leverage against each other, things will be doubly interesting as the final showdown will happen soon. We should see Senku win, but at the same time, I would want him to be friends with Zeno.

Senku and Zeno have a bond that runs pretty deep between them. Had the situation been different, I’m sure Zeno would have never wanted Senku to die. But their situation has made them stand against each other, and it is sad that they would have to fight amongst themselves to finally come to a conclusion.

I love today’s episode as it prioritizes characters other than Senku and showcases how important they are for the Kingdom of Science. Even though Senku is not the main scientist anymore, Chrome and others do their best to prepare a counterattack against Zeno. Zeno, on the other hand, is also ready with his secret weapon which seems like a rocket.
