Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 2 Review: The 4th season of the much anticipated Demon Slayer is finally here, and we are absolutely hyped for the 2nd episode. Let us see how the 2nd episode went in detail below.
Demon Slayer Season 4 Overview

Demon Slayer is a popular manga series created by Koyoharu Gotouge. It was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020 and later compiled into 23 volumes.
The upcoming season of Demon Slayer will adapt material from the 15th and 16th volumes of the manga, specifically chapters 128–136. Scheduled to debut on May 12, 2024, with a special one-hour episode, it has been licensed by Aniplex of America for streaming on Crunchyroll outside of Asia.
The season’s opening theme song, “Mugen”, will be performed by My First Story and Hyde. There has been no information regarding the ending theme yet.
Episode 2 of Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc can also be called Episode 2 Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Geiko-hen (鬼滅の刃 柱稽古編).
I have tried my best to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but there are certain elements that I had to mention to give proper feedback.

Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 2 Review and Recap – Tanjiro Is Persistent

Today’s episode is the perfect continuation of the last segment as it answers a very important question that was presented to us previously. At the beginning of the training arc, we discovered that Giyu would not be part of the training, but we were never told the reason. Here, we find out about a big chunk of his past, his apathetic disposition and his reluctance to join the training with others.
This episode starts with Tamayo informing Yushiro that they will be moving for the very last time after being visited by the crow. It seems that she has made a decision after getting invited by Ubuyashiki, to conduct her studies in his residence. On the other hand, Tanjiro gets a personal letter from the master himself regarding a task that only he can pull off. And it is none other than pestering and almost stalking Giyu into revealing his past and joining the others for training.

This episode was an interesting mix of serious drama and comedy. The parts about Giyu’s story and his background will definitely pull at your heartstrings, but the way Tanjiro made him submit and finally reveal about himself, will make you laugh. The dynamic between Tanjiro, a natural extrovert who never gives up, and Giyu, a core introvert who doesn’t know how to handle someone like Tanjiro, is quite amusing.
Other than that, we also see the reappearance of an unexpected character who did not seem that important previously. This person will have the biggest impact on Giyu and the decisions that he will make later in his life. Another point that I must mention is how fitting the last song is, which goes well with the ghastly and villainous nature of Muzan.

Verdict
I love this episode, and it was interesting to know about Giyu, who doesn’t reveal much about himself. But I would also have liked it if the emotional development that happened within Giyu had taken a bit more time. Nevertheless, it’s good that the anime has a fast pace, and they are taking things forward without wasting time or beating around the bush. This was also the first proper episode for many like me who have watched the film before, so in that aspect as well, this an enjoyable and engaging watch.
