Delicious In Dungeon Episode 2 Review and Recap – A Hunt For Ingredients
Another pleasant episode came from this weirdly entertaining isekai adventure anime. The episode opens with a dream where a young Marcielle, who clearly is traumatised about eating the monsters in the dungeon, sees and smells something sinister before waking up. Just like any other normal person, she wishes to eat normal food, but sadly that is just not possible in a setting where food is scarce.

But her protest falls on deaf ears, as now Senshi plans to get a more balanced diet where they can eat meat or protein-rich eggs. But how is that possible? Well, there is a creature called Basilisk, which is high in protein, and it also lays eggs. The only problem is that it appears to have the front of a chicken and a snake head for a tail.
But it’s not just odd food preparations that we have witnessed in this episode, we also realise why Marielle tries to be overtly helpful and lands herself in problems. The fact that she cannot help in the dungeon as much as others bothers her, and thus, she ends up creating dangerous yet funny situations for herself.
I also liked how we explored the dungeon more than just focusing on the food. The dungeon is full of traps that are extremely dangerous. If you are not careful enough, you are bound to end up dead. But with an expert lockpick like Chilchuck, that outcome is not gonna happen.
But even Chilchuck was lost for words when a new problem arose for him. Apparently, now he will have to use the booby traps to make Kakiage or Japanese fritters, out of a bat monster.
This episode again was amusing and pretty entertaining, but I believe this will have a very specific audience that will like it. If you are going at it just for laughs and adventures, then I would recommend not to do so because both these elements take on a less important role in many instances. Other than that, if you like lighthearted comedy with quests that are quickly solved without much happening, then you should give this one a try.

Verdict
I like this episode and also enjoyed it. The recipes showcased here are strange yet properly explained. Even though the ingredients are downright bizarre, you would still want to know the process, as the end results always seem delicious. But again, this has a very specific target audience, so see if you like it yourself.
