Born in 1930 in North Korea, Ja Geun-soon flees to South Korea during the war, ultimately separating her from her family. While in South Korea, she founds a hotel chain Hotel Nakwon. Her ultimate goal behind doing this was to provide a vision of hope to the people around her like a lighthouse.

Her life picks up speed yet again when Yoo Jae-heon is offered to play her grandson in real life. It’s been Geum-soon’s final wish to see her grandson Moon-sung before she dies, even if for once while waiting at her hotel. Ha Ji-won on the other hand plays Geum-soon’s granddaughter named Park Se-yeon and is the general manager of her hotel.

The show transports us back to the haunting fictionalized reality of warring times and the trauma that scars the people who witnessed it for a lifetime. Having lost one’s family plays out a negative impact on one’s memory too. This story will venture into the same territory and explore the ravages of war and how some families try their all to overcome it.

Ha Ji-won is returning to the Korean drama arena after a long while and her fans are extremely delighted to have patiently awaited her comeback. Head over to the KBS Drama Instagram profile for more updates.
