How many people can confirm that they’ve successfully collaborated with their idols or favourite artists/ movies in the world? At this point, both the BTS Army and RM can, as the septet’s leader has dropped the Closer music video in collaboration with one of his most loved movies of all time – Decision to Leave.
The aforementioned South Korean film came out in 2022 and has been directed by Park Chan-wook, a filmmaker, for whom Kim Namjoon has expressed words of respect even at Suga’s new talk show Suchwita. Fans of the group were left stunned as they tuned into the latest music video on BTS’ Youtube channel.

Living through their moments of deja vu while watching the video, their jaws dropped to the floor when they recalled that a fellow member of their fandom came out with a Closer X Decision to Leave edit on Twitter. Now, it turns out that the South Korean indie singer, who goes by the stage name eAeon and had joined forces with RM for songs like BADBYE, off the latter’s mixtape Mono (2018) and Don’t, off eAeon’s EP titled Fragile (2021), shared this edit with RM, possibly knowing about his admiration for the movie.
The final product, now out on YouTube, uses the similar visuals, which have transformed the fan edit into a reality and allowed Namjoon to find a common ground with Park Chan-wook’s masterpiece. He also took to his Instagram profile to post an update regarding the same, with a caption that translates to the following text in English, “We mixed some lo-fi arrangements to go with the video! It’s an honor to be part of a movie I love”. The fan-edit on the other hand, used the original song as it is, but RM has switched the gears for the official video to fit the tone of the movie scenes included in the video.
Fans have once again flooded Twitter with their responses on the situation as they’re amazed by how such a thing could’ve translated into becoming a reality. They’re unanimously agreeing to the idea of RM taking it up with the higher authorities at Bight Music to connect with the movie makers in order to sign up for the official collaboration and make this happen by any means necessary.
