Cirkus Twitter Review: Ranveer Singh’s Movie Leaves the Audience Utterly Disappointed

Cirkus is a brand-new comedy by director Rohit Shetty starring Ranveer Singh as Roy, Pooja Hedge as Mala, Jacqueline Fernandez as Bindu and Varun Sharma Joy in the lead roles. Written by Farhan Samji, Sanchit Bendre and Vidhi Ghodgaonkar and the screenplay by Yunus Sajawal, the movie has a total runtime of 138 minutes.

The rest of the movie’s cast includes Siddhartha Jadhav as Momo, Sanjay Mishra as Bindu’s Father, Johnny Lever as Polson dada, Murali Sharma as Roy along with Ashwini Kalsekar, Anil Charanjeet, Vrajesh Hirjee and others. The movie’s plot is based on Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors and is set in the 1940s. Jomon T John is the cinematographer, and Devi Sri Prasad, Badshah and Lijo George-DJ Chetas gave the music.

The official synopsis of Cirkus reads as follows:

After finding two sets of identical twins on the doorstep of his orphanage, Dr. Roy Jamnadas gives them up for adoption to two different families in two different cities. Years later, a comedy of errors ensues when one set of twins decides to visit the city where the other set of twins runs a circus.

Moviegoers were excited about the latest star-studded movie, especially since it is directed by Rohit Shetty, who previously created the iconic Bollywood comedy franchise Golmaal. Expectations were even higher with Ranveer Singh as the lead character, and it is his third movie with the director after working together in Simmba and Sooryavanshi.

But the audience left the theatres with disappointment as the movie did not manage to entertain them. The viewers had a lot of expectations from the director, but the film was a letdown. The general public has declared the movie a “flop”, and there is no saving it.

The Twitter community did not shy away from criticizing the movie on the platform. They called the plot boring and the story writing an absolute disaster. Some of them are seen criticizing not only the director but also the actors. Meanwhile, some netizens created memes to describe and cope with the experience.
