Celebrity Season 2 Update: The Korean drama, also known as 셀러브리티, stars Park Gyu-young as Seo Ah-ri King, Kang Min-hyuk as Han Jun-kyung, Lee Chung-ah as Yoon Shi-hyeon, Lee Dong-gun as Jin Tae-jeon, and Jun Hoo-seong as Oh Min-hye. The Kdrama on Netflix has 12 episodes of 40-50 minutes each. It was released on Friday, and viewers can’t stop talking about it.
Celebrity on Netflix focuses on what it means to be an influencer. It sheds light on the glamorous and rich lifestyle of these internet celebs who easily earn money by just posting random stuff about their lives. They usually make up stuff and pretend to be good just for the views and likes. Then comes Seo Ah-ri, a 30-something influencer who shakes the e-celeb world.
Seo Ah-ri becomes a top influencer and discloses to the world all the cheat codes and tactics. She exposes all the lies these divas share on social media about themselves and the products they endorse. But it is revealed that Ah-ri is actually dead. So who is this girl calling herself Seo Ah-ri and sharing all the dark secrets about herself and others with strangers online? Well, we get our answers in the end.
Will Netflix Greenlit Celebrity Season 2?
Honestly, there seems to be no need for Celebrity Season 2. The makers have solved every mystery they built up in the initial episodes. We find out that Seo A-ri never dies. She fakes her death to show the world the influencer culture’s reality and avenge the deaths caused by the actions of an online stranger named ‘bbbfamous’. A-ri also succeeds in getting Jin Tae-jeon arrested for hiding the death of a man who overdosed and for planning Han Jun-kyung’s accident.
The person who used to carry out the Instagram Live session as Seo Ah-ri was actually her best friend. Her friend would use deep fake technology to look like Ah-ri. Hence, no one could easily find out her whereabouts. While her friend pretended to be Ah-ri, the real one would dig up the truth and answers. That’s exactly how she found out who ‘bbbfamous’ was.
‘bbbfamous’ was a massage therapist employed at the massage parlour where these influencers often went. These ladies often b*tch and spill each other’s secrets during their massage sessions. The massage therapist, Eun Chae, would carefully record these conversations and leak them to Ah-ri when she had just embarked on her journey as an influencer. Eun Chae’s real name is Lee Seon-yeong, and she hated how these e-celebs would spend lots of money in a day, which would even exceed her monthly salary. Hence, she wanted to seek revenge.

The series ends with Seo A-ri revealing that she doesn’t want to be an influencer anymore. She’s happy just being herself and having people who love and truly know her. The makers haven’t left any loose ends or cliffhangers. So a season 2 isn’t obligatory for Ah-ri’s story.
However, if the makers want to take forward the same subject and tell more such stories, especially about male influencers, we hope they make an announcement soon. After all, influencers are of all kinds. We would love to see how the matter would be covered if it’s a story about men who earn millions just by posting random videos.
