Castaway Diva Episode 4 Recap
Castaway Diva episode 4 begins with Ran-joo’s preparation for her upcoming gig along with the production team of the show as she asks Bo-geol to add something extra for her interview. Later, Mok-ha sees off the staff as Ron-joo’s manager and Bo-geol tells her to get a phone and a driver’s license.
Mok-ha agrees with him but has no money to fulfil these needs until she sees the sign on the salon’s door and decides to get herself a job. She approaches the Kang brothers’ parents and they agree to let her work for them which later helps her fulfil her needs. The next day, Woo-hak walks into Bo-geol who is talking to Mok-ha about creating an email to make communication regarding the program easier.
After the call, Woo-hak rebukes him for ordering Mok-ha around to do things which is insensitive as she is facing a challenge trying to blend in with society and Bo-geol is only making things harder. Annoyed by his brother’s behaviour, Woo-hak decides to head home to have lunch with Mok-ha and is surprised to find her working at his parent’s salon.

She is happy to accompany him and understands that eating alone is something that he does not like. Mok-ha shares her annoyance after having found no leads towards Ki-ho and wonders if he is dead. Woo-hak tells her to believe that he is alive and could have his reasons for not showing up.
Woo-hak then shows her his wound and shares how he lost his memory from before high school and maybe Ki-ho is also stopped by a reason similar to his. Mok-ha is convinced and then shares her story from the island about how she lured a seagull into having meals with her as she couldn’t bear eating alone for so long. Woo-hak is bewildered by her story but understands where she is coming from.
Mok-ha tells him to reach out to her anytime he wants company when eating as she too likes to eat with others. The scene shifts to Seo-joon who makes a big decision for Ran-joo while she prepares for the show. She asks Mok-ha about the main producer of the show and finds out that it is a familiar face with whom she never had a good relationship.
Elsewhere, the producer Hong Yeon-kyeong is also complaining about Ran-joo who had always been a headache to her during her younger days. While the two sigh about having to meet each other again, the day of the show arrives and Hong Yeon-kyeong gets a call from Seo-joon.
Mok-ha and Ran-joo finally make their way to the location by bus and the former is struck by the grandeur of the place. Yeon-kyeong rushes to greet Ran-joo with great delight and points at the treat Seo-joon has prepared for the staff on behalf of Ran-joo. This leaves Ran-joo struck but she soon finds out that this is just the beginning of Seo-joon’s surprises.
However, Mok-ha is suspicious of everything that is happening and tells Ran-joo to stay alert. Later, Bo-geol is on his way to the site when Woo-hak’s words make him realise that there is something wrong with Ran-joo’s singing. His suspicions soon become clear when he sees Ran-joo refusing to sing during the soundcheck and Mok-ha backstage.
Mok-ha gets her hands on one of the extra microphones when she is stopped by Ran-joo’s previous manager who asks for her contact information. She exchanges contacts and rushes to Ran-joo right before the program begins. The show starts and Ran-joo now has to face off with her old self.

The music from her previous video begins playing and soon shifts to her singing in the present where Mok-ha takes her place like the previous time. The two sounds fill the room one after another after which the music is stopped and the audience is asked to guess which is Ran-joo’s voice from her peak days.
The audience begins pouring in their votes while Ran-joo and Mok-ha hope they can beat Ran-joo from the past. Finally, the voting ends and the results reveal the current Ran-joo as the winner following which the music for the rest of the song is played to which Mok-ha sings and Ran-joo gives a brilliant performance.
The performance ends on a positive note and Ran-joo ends her follow-up speech with a message to Ki-ho, letting him know that his friend is waiting for him to come back. After the event, Ran-joo sends Mok-ha to the washroom to find out what everyone thinks about the performance and Mok-ha is happy to hear positive comments about the star.

Later, she sees the stage and hopes that Ki-ho has heard her voice while imagining herself standing on the same stage one day. however, Bo-geol arrives and asks about her desperation to find Ki-ho and how he could be a changed man now. Mok-ha feels his annoyance but when she hears words against Ki-ho, she does not back down from defending him.
The next day, the internet is filled with positive comments about Ran-joo and she is moved to tears by the overwhelming emotions that she is feeling now. Meanwhile, Woo-hak receives a bouquet on behalf of Mok-ha and tells her that it is from Ki-ho who wants to meet her. Mok-ha rushes to his company and takes the flowers from him before leaving to meet Ki-ho.

However, Woo-hak is distressed that he is not Ki-ho and later tells Bo-geol about the flowers. Bo-geol is surprised by this and rushes out to save Mok-ha while Woo-hak is left wondering what happened. While Mok-ha makes her way to Seoul Station, Ran-joo arrives at Seo-joon’s house and is like a fish in water.
Castaway Diva Episode 4 Ending
Elsewhere, Woo-hak is struck by memories of the past and sees Bong-wan’s face in his memories which makes him faint. Later, he wakes up understanding that something is wrong with the bouquet he received and rushes out to find Mok-ha. Meanwhile, Ran-joo tries to find out Seo-joon’s motives but isn’t clear about it after which she leans in to kiss him only to be stopped.
Seo-joon tells her that everything he did that day was due to guilt as he has taken down all of Ran-joo’s albums, both online and offline, and they can no longer be sold. Ran-joo is shocked by this and cannot believe how heartless he has become.
At Seoul Station, Mok-ha waits for Ki-ho in the rain when she sees Bong-wan standing at a distance and understands the situation. She is struck with fright and tries to run away but falls; right then, a man in a green jacket arrives to help her escape and the two finally succeed in disappearing from Bong-wan’s sight.
The two come to a stop and Mok-ha calls out Ki-ho’s name, only to see Bo-geol standing in front of her.

Castaway Diva Episode 4 Review
Another episode with a rush of information, emotions, and a neverending yearning that drives Mok-ha each day. This episode brings another story from Mok-ha’s time on the island which helps us understand her isolation which drove her crazy for 15 years, however, this loneliness is something that is also felt by those surrounded by people.
Meanwhile, Ran-joo is the character I sympathise with the most after Mok-ha because of the way she is being driven to the corner by the people she once believed in the most. It is heartbreaking to see her facing her vocal nodules while also being put down by those who promised her the world.
Finally, while Mok-ha’s character continues to amaze me, it is also the writers who are amazing me right now with the way they are keeping viewers confused about who the real Ki-ho is. They deserve a good applause for this and I’m looking forward to who the real Ki-ho is.
Which Kang brother do you think is Ki-ho? Let us know in the comments below!
