-Casey Anthony Where the Truth Lies Review Does Not Contain Spoilers-
The series starts with Casey Anthony, who is now a 36-year-old woman living mostly away from the public eye, setting up her pictures and frames in an undisclosed shooting location. The very first question that she gets asked at the start of the documentary, revolves around the main reason for appearing on camera, after nearly eleven years of her acquittal.
Her response makes it quite clear that she wants to present a complete and clear picture of the entire case, and the events surrounding the death of her daughter. Something, which she believes will honour the memory of Caylee, and also throw some light on her side of the story. The docu-series then stick steadily to providing the Casey Anthony Context to the series of events and also takes us back to one of the first social media trials of the century.
The series does a great job of educating the viewer about the entirety of the case. For instance, even if you do not have the slightest idea about the trial, you will form a knowledgeable opinion right after these episodes. Moreover, we are shown the exact chronology of the case, along with explanations from different parties, followed by a detailed commentary from Casey and her close associates.
It ventures into the 911 call, Casey’s repeated lies to the cops, her child abuse, and many more triggering intricacies that will make ponder really hard about the outcome. The series also manages to reflect the exact state of mind that Casey was subjected to, right from her teenage years. Even though some of it might still be arguable, there is no doubt about the representation of the psychological state.

The biggest revelation in the documentary comes when Casey allegedly shifts the blame for her daughter’s death on George Anthony. However, the series doesn’t confirm any such allegations, but only focuses on detailing Casey’s version of the happenings. Furthermore, she goes on to describe her years of abuse and trauma, which were responsible for her compulsive and strange behaviour.
The documentary is successful in highlighting the mindset of an abused person and unearths some new grounds from the investigation. It also leaves us with some more information about Casey’s whereabouts, and her present life after almost a decade after the incident. Maybe it doesn’t bind you to formulate a one-sided story but surely helps to reflect one of the most unfortunate tragedies.

She is a psychopath. It made me mad watching. She is still a liar. Sh÷ killed her daughter.
Sounds like you’ve been brainwashed by the media. How can you not see that her father is at the root of every accusation against her. He did something to that little girl and blamed it on Casey.
No way!
Why would she wait 13 years to tell “her story” . Any mother looking for her missing child would tell their story immediately to everyone around to help find her baby!!!!
She is the killer.
My father molested me, and for that reason, my daughters were never allowed to be around him. I don’t believe her, because if my father had done that, I’d see him get the death penalty.
Family secret: Casey’s brother Lee is Caylee’s father. George did not sexually abuse his daughter. Casey had plenty of time to come up with that unforgivable story to justify her lies and manipulation to police. Nor, did he have anything to do with Cayle’s murder. Casey will not be nominated for best actress in this documentary. The answer to the question: Who accidentally murdered Caylee? Her very own mother.
I believe Casey! It is clear as day. As a survivor myself, you can see the real trauma
She endured at the hands of her father. He should be in jail. When they discussed how he disposed of the family animals in a garbage bag with duck tape-ummm hello. His disgusting speech at the funeral. He had control over her she was young and silenced. I know everyone is slamming Peacock but I applaud Peacock for displaying the truth. The media did a number on Casey. I’m so glad she is speaking her truth. ????♥️
Watching this documentary changed my feeling towards her. During the trial I did have suspicions about her father and felt he helped her cover it up, but now I can’t help to feel he was solely responsible. I have a lot of empathy for her.
I know she has lied so much the truth will never be known.
She is a disgusting liar…. needs to be in jail to remember that her dad allegedly molested her???? Pathetic… she is a disgusting person…
I was moved by the documentary. I really think her father was responsible for Cayley in some way. I was disgusting by his speech at the funeral. Why was he the prosecutors main witness. He was an ex cop and knew how to act. This was a highly publicized case in the media. People like Nancy Grace and others would get on tv and slam Casey. She was found guilty even before the trial. Unfortunately abused people do put on a tough affect which didn’t help her. I wish her well and hope her father somehow gets charged.
This documentary is a waste of everyone’s time, the only reason she agreed to this is because she had over ten years to create another disgusting story filled with lies to try and get people to believe her. She’s a murderer, she killed that poor little girl and has ZERO remorse for it. Not to mention even if there is any truth to the allegations against her father & brother, it’s no excuse for her actions! She’s pathetic, it’s disgusting to me that she was found not guilty and even more disgusting that her defense team actually believes her. There’s a spot in hell for you Casey! I hope you rot.
You, my friend, need to work on fine tuning your bull shit detector. Personally, I have always been very intuitive, and I can pretty quickly pick up on how genuine or down to earth someone may be when I first meet them. Unfortunately there are so many sociopaths and narcissists etc. that it’s difficult to fully trust my own instincts before I have more experience with said person… But given the horrifying context and behaviors pertaining to and exhibited by Casey Anthony, it is so painfully frustrating to watch this documentary that essentially gave her free reign to build her own narrative as well as the freedom and support to create and add and manipulate the story whenever, where ever, and however she pleases. I don’t care if you are Mother Theresa for Christ sake, not one person is a 100% victim of their circumstances. Yet if you notice, Casey has molded herself into a pathetic victim/martyr in EVERY aspect of her entire narrative. Literally.
Am I saying George is perfect or should be rewarded dad of the year anytime soon? Absolutely not, I can’t know what the Anthony household and life was actually like, none of us can. But as far as the horrific allegations of abuse, I personally am choosing to apply Occam’s Razor: the simplest explanation is usually the correct one. In this case we have practically nothing, ZERO, coming out of Casey’s mouth from the moment, well really for most of her life, but as it pertains to the disappearance/murder of her daughter, from the moment she vanished, even before anyone knew she was gone, Casey has done nothing but construe lie after lie. Then, once she finally gets arrested and is backed into a corner, she miraculously begins uncovering repressed memories of YEARS of absolutely traumatic abuse at the hands of her father AND brother while she sits in jail awaiting the trial that will determine the course of her existence moving forward… No. Occam’s Razor, or just plain common sense, tells us that she is grasping at straws in order to get herself out of big trouble, and she does not care at all who she hurts or lives she ruins in the process.
I think you’re the one that’s been brainwashed , She needs an award for that acting. We watch the facts Not the media.
I was molested by my mother’s boyfriend and there’s no way I would have brought my children around him and if he molested her why the h*** was she sitting on his lap in that picture she’s a liar and she makes me sick
I’m with you Sara. I have so many questions… this documentary was laughable!
Why in the heavens do we not know (even after the trial) what happened during those 30-31 damn days?
If baby was touched by George… why was that not on the autopsy report?
Why are they going in circles not making ANY DAMN SENSE??
I believe her! Have you been raped as a child? Her Father is a pedofile disgusting human!
