Capturing the Killer Nurse Teaser has been released by Netflix. The documentary about a true crime unravels the enigma behind serial killer nurse Charles Cullen and how he almost escaped justice until Amy Loughren, Cullen’s coworker, assisted in apprehending the murderer.

The documentary film is directed by Tim Travers Hawkins, who co-wrote it with Robin Ockleford and is produced by Robin Ockleford alongside executive producers Henri Singer, Susannah Price

The official synopsis of the documentary reads, “This documentary reveals how investigators proved ICU nurse Charles Cullen was killing patients — and how close he came to getting away with murder.”

We will also see archive footage of Cullen himself during police interviews. The documentary Capturing the Killer Nurse was also made into a Netflix film, The Good Nurse, which is a dramatic depiction of the case based on Charles Graeber’s book of the same name.

This documentary will reveal the real story of how Cullen went from being a valued member of the Somerset Medical Center staff to becoming a man accused of many murders. Cullen believed that he was helping the victims he murdered, and that he was not committing a heinous crime. Over the course of his 16-year career, Cullen is suspected to have killed up to 400 patients.

The idea that a nurse might be killing patients was very disturbing,” says Loughren in the teaser. “There’s no eyewitnesses. There’s no cameras.

Amy Loughren, the courageous nurse, shares her account of the events with the audience, detailing what she has seen and how difficult it was for her to come to terms with what she had witnessed. The teaser reveals how Cullen nearly got away with his horrible act since there was no proof pointing to his guilt. But the hero, Amy Loughren, would not allow him to get away with his atrocities and stood up against him.

The documentary film will be released on November 11 on Netflix.
