The final episode for Hulu’s latest true-crime drama Candy has already aired leaving audiences conflicted, shocked and angry. Created by Nick Antosca and Robin Veith, the miniseries features Jessica Biel in the titular role along with Melanie Lynskey as Betty Gore, Pablo Schreiber as Allan Gore, Justin Timberlake as Sheriff Steve Deffibaugh and Timothy Simons as Pat Montgomery. The series recounts the murder of Betty Gore and, the subsequent trial where the titular character was seen as the killer.
Consisting of five episodes that released daily over the week, the 5-night event on Hulu garnered a lot of views as well as some heavy discussions. Twitter has been flooding over the last days about the series, some are giving out their own verdicts whereas others are just happy to see Timberlake and Biel share the screen together. One of the users wrote, “Nobody believed Candy was guilty because she was tiny. She couldn’t possibly swing an axe 41 times. Pat tried and failed. She was hopped up on adrenaline. I got the Target story memorized now! ????#CandyOnHulu.”
Somebody else tweeted, “Aww hell naw. Did she just really make scrambled eggs with spaghetti. Wtf kinda meal is this? No wonder she killed????????♀️???? #CandyOnHulu”. Whereas another person tweeted about Justin saying, “Not @jtimberlake with the surprise cameo in #CandyonHulu as the sheriff. I knew it was him the minute I heard his voice. I’m cackling.
