It doesn’t appear that Candace Owens will stop targeting Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, anytime soon. Ever since Charlie’s assassination last year, Owens has repeatedly questioned Erika about his death and her authenticity.
Owens struck again, Reuters reports, after Erika announced on X that she would skip Turning Point USA’s event at the University of Georgia with Vice President JD Vance due to security concerns. TPUSA’s CEO wrote on the platform: “I was so looking forward to tonight’s event at the @universityofga with our Vice President @JDVance. But after all our family has been through, I take my security team’s recommendations extremely seriously. Thank you to our amazing Georgia chapter for your support. God bless you all!”
TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet echoed the statement. Owens dismissed Erika’s explanation, claiming she canceled due to low ticket sales, not security threats. Replying directly on X, Owens wrote: “Stop. This is exhausting. You pulled out because of bad ticket sales. For the same reason, TPUSA Faith had to ‘reschedule’ the Pastor’s Summit and various other events quietly.”
Owens added: “People don’t believe you and don’t line up for you because you struggle to tell the truth about even the most basic facts.” She questioned Erika’s CEO role: “Where is the video of Charlie appointing you as CEO weeks before his death?”
To underscore her point, Owens noted: “The Secret Service sits above your security team. Were there actually a viable threat, the Vice President would not have continued the event.” Owens’ comments drew mixed reactions. Some users defended Erika’s caution after her husband’s death, while many criticized her logic and backed Owens.
Footage showed the hall at Akins Ford Arena only about 25% full, bolstering Owens’ claims. One commenter noted: “Turning Point USA seems to have misestimated crowd size for Vance. Akins Ford Arena [is] less than 25% filled for the vice president.”
Another said: “She is single-handedly taking down TPUSA like she allowed Israel to take down her own damn husband. I feel so bad, that man. RIP.” A third added: “Let me get this straight: The vice president of the United States is safe to attend a public event with apparent known death threats, but Erika can’t? OK, I’m done, guys. That’s too much truth for this week.”
Some comments also referenced affair rumors between Vance and Erika, suggesting JD Vance’s wife, Usha Vance, was relieved by her absence.
