Erika Kirk’s Cheek Kisses with Trump at TPUSA Event in Phoenix Draw “Creepy” Backlash Online

Erika Kirk continues drawing attention for all the wrong reasons after her appearance at the Turning Point USA event at Dream City Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Kirk’s decision to skip the previous TPUSA event in Georgia already drew heat after the U.S. Secret Service dismissed her security concerns, confirming no credible threats—prompting Vice President JD Vance’s attendance.

Kirk attended the Arizona event and faced renewed scrutiny over her onstage kiss with President Donald Trump, whom she welcomed with a WWE-style entrance. Addressing the crowd with loud music blaring, she said: “No matter what they throw at him, he perseveres in the face of adversity because the mission is too important.”

Trump greeted Kirk with kisses on both cheeks, reports AZ Mirror. Social media users called Trump’s expression “creepy,” with one X post under the video stating: “And the next Melania was there to greet him. How precious.”

Others reacted: “I think I’m going to be sick”; “A portion of the MAGA base has caught on to the charade”; and “This is pathetic. This country’s hopeless until adults get back in control.”

However, supporters defended the gesture as Trump showing support for the widow. Notably, though, Trump has offered similar public affection before, including at Charlie Kirk’s funeral in September 2025.

Since her husband Charlie Kirk’s assassination last year, Erika has risen to prominence. Her grieving style and perceived contradictions between her preached values and lifestyle have fueled ongoing criticism.

She remains unfazed by critics as she continues as TPUSA CEO—a role her late husband once held.
