With all eyes set on the BLACKPINK Jennie Cannes 2023 Red Carpet debut, the K-pop singer has finally stepped out in style as an actress for the first time. Joining the out of competition world premiere of her upcoming HBO Max series The Idol, the South Korean singer has fronted headlines with great panache in the last few months. Putting her musical cape down for this event, she took the world by storm with her fairy tale look in a white knee-length tulle gown. Here’s what it looked like!

Alongside her costars, Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd, Troye Sivan, Hari Nef, Moses Sumney, the show’s co creator Sam Levinson and others, Jennie Kim’s 76th Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet choice was reminiscent of her Met Gala 2023 attire. Following the same monochromatic colour theme, Kim rose up to the occasion not only with her pre-established and set in stone power as the well-known K-pop star or The Idol cast member, but also as the brand ambassador of the luxury fashion brand she donned at both the ceremonies.
Looking nothing short of a princess, she opted for one of the pieces of creative director Virginie Viard’s spring 2020 haute couture collection. And though the the dress was worn a bit differently for the original runway walk by Kaia Gerber, Kim decided to go with a feminine white swan-like look with bare shoulders. The upper half of the dress was held in position with a corset, while the rest of it flowed down, taking the shape of a tulle skirt. Her black tulle sleeves remained off-shoulder, attracting our full attention to the white lace custom Chanel gown.
Her look for the night gained more dimension with her choice of accessories that included her loose locks being pulled back with a black satin bow. Keeping off any dramatic earrings, she paired her dress with black peep-toe heels that were again embellished with a bow. Tiny hints of rouge on her cheeks alleviated her makeup game that was kept to a classy minimal as the singer/rapper settled into her role as an acting debutante for the evening.
