Becoming a trend just after the album was released worldwide, this dance took social media by storm. After seeing the way most fans took to the release of the album Midnights, the artist decided to pay homage to the dance by replicating it during the performance.

Swift had previously expressed in an interview that is extremely excited to play Champagne Problems and hear fans sing the bridge with her, yelling some of the lyrics while they’re at it. In one of her past tours titled the ‘Fearless Tour,’ she played the guitar and twirled while doing so. She decided to bring back that aspect of the tour and decided to play one of her songs while twirling with the guitar. The artist also shared how her parents had decided to stick sequins on her guitar on a free Friday afternoon.

During the Love Story performance, there is a proposal scene in the song and previously many people have been proposed this way when the song had been played around them.
