Releasing on March 20, 2023, at 6 PM KST, NMIXX’s Love Me Like This music video has kickstarted their latest comeback era for their first extended play, Expergo. With 6 songs on the EP, it is led by the titular single. Following Jinni’s departure from the South Korean girl group in December 2022, this also marks the first comeback for the girls as a six-member band.
An upbeat, bubbly, energetic RnB sound commands the music video premiered today. Love Me Like This asserts opening one’s heart and unleashing the pent-up feelings buried deep inside. Its lyrics capture the essence of love and its various shades, as exhibited when we choose to love ourselves and even when we forge bonds with others, and how this emotion transforms our characters after that.
All six members can be seen sporting snazzy and chic outfits in the MV. Plaid patterns and pants overlaid with skirt pleats add a youthful charm to the funky dance choreography performed by the girls. The eventual switch-up of their attires sees them adorning voguish head crowns, all distinct and reflective of the respective members wearing them. The video also brings in dreamlike aesthetic visual frames (some even hinting at Wizard of Oz references) that one can’t ignore.
The album’s title, Expérgo, is a Latin word that refers to waking up. The tracklist of the new EP is as follows, Young Dumb Stupid, PAXXWORD, Just Did It, My Gosh, and HOME, in addition to the eponymous lead single.

Formed as a group by SQU4D, a sub-label of JYP Entertainment, NMIXX debuted in February 2022 with their single album Ad Marie. It now comprises six members – Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin – after Jinni departed from the band. They’ve been nominated for several rookie awards since they’re new in the K-pop business as one of the 4th-generation groups. Some of these nominations include the Golden Disk Award – Rookie Artist Award and MAMA Award for Best New Female Artist. Since their debut, the girl members have been leading with their signature dance-pop and hip-hop soundscape.

Tune into NMIXX’s latest comeback album on Spotify. Before the release of this album, the group also came out with their second single album Entwurf in September 2022, which consisted of the lead single Dice and the song Cool, along with both of their instrumental tracks.
